Anyone fined yet for flopping?

I'm just curious... they made this big deal about how people were going to be punished for flopping this year. We've already had a bunch of preseason games. Any fines?

The more I think about it, the more I think this is completely the wrong way to go about it.

As much as we'd all love to see guys like Blake Griffin, LeBron, and Chris Paul get what's coming to them with flopping calls, it'll probably still wind up working against small market teams again.

Why can't we fine the refs instead?

The old man is crazy! I pick the play every game, then tell him and show him what it is during the commercial break right before we air it. I show him EVERY time where I'm going to freeze it and he NEVER remembers when to say FREEZE IT!!!!!!!! Drives me crazy!

Like I said before, the refs need to simply ignore them and let the players deal with the consequences. Fining won't do a damn thing.

If we end the season with Paul not receiving so much as a warning, but someone like, (insert role player name here), gets warnings and fines, then we know the new system is flawed.

I watched the MEM/LAC game tonight, and while I won't attribute the loss to Paul's flops, they were definitely there. Even Brevin Knight (the Memphis color analyst), who is usually very impartial to foul calls against the Grizz, said several times... "Oooh, I don't know if anyone even touched Paul there. He sold that one."

If the league is going to implement new rules, they should implement them universally and not give preference to superstars.

Like I said in another thread, if ya'll think this is homerism on my part, just wait until ya'll play the Clippers, and then you can tell me how many times Chris Paul flopped without receiving an official "warning."

He's the greatest point guard in the game. He doesn't need to rely on flops in most situations, but the reality is that he does rely on flops more than most players. He's the king of floppers in the NBA. The sad thing is that only 10+% of his game is based off of flops, but he flops the most in crunch time scenarios, like he did tonight, and that should be the thing that the NBA should be trying to crack down on.
