Anyone know anything about Phoenix / Chandler AZ?

It is looking like I'm going to be moving the PHX area, Chandler initially and was wondering if anyone here knew about those areas.

I know a ton of guys that live out there and really like it....its hot, but a different kind of hit than you get back east, or atleast thats what they say

30 to 35% is real humid here in SLC. Its even drier in PHX.

August in Connecticut is some of the worst conditions I have ever endured. 95 degrees & 95% humidity... I found it worse than the SE US, Hawaii, & Cancun.

Phoenix is urban sprawl as far as the eye can see. I think they might have a few tall buildings somewhere they call downtown, but not sure anyone really thinks of it as downtown.

The scenery is gorgeous, though be ready for 120 degree days. You'll enjoy the temperate winters, though, and the hot weather is maybe really 4 months long. The other 8 months will be quite enjoyable.

I've been to Phoenix once, in 2005 on a layover on my way back to California (I watched UNC-Illinois from my hotel room). Always wanted to go back but never did.

It was April 1 or 2 and it was in the 80s that day I believe. Not bad.

True. The really hot weather is June, July, Aug, & Sept if memory serves.

I'd avoid S Phoenix.

The "scenery" is phenomenal especially in Tempe... nudge nudge wink wink say no more.

Yeah the heat doesn't break til late, walking between classes can be quite a burden. I don't know too much about Chandler exactly, I rarely venture out side of Scottsdale and Tempe and the economic landscape can be different between towns.
