Says the guy that doesn't know what "streaming" means.![]()
This is the stupidest post I've seen on this site in a long long time.
Just moronic.
Idiotic.
Foolish.
Need I go on?
That's pretty hypocritical of you, considering your responses in this discussion (quoted below).
Sure, let's have a discussion. Maybe you could begin by expanding upon 'GTFO' and 'Depends on what you consider "science"'.
Here's your contributions to the discussion so far:

barfo said:They have this new thing called 'the Internet'. You should check it out sometime...

barfo said:Do you make your own laptops? How much do they weigh?
barfo
barfo said:I guess if I wanted a two-year old home built system, I'd buy it from you rather than Apple?
I'll keep that in mind in case I ever do.

barfo said:Obviously it did. It's pitch dark outside.

barfo said:Why don't you love the blazers?

I'm happy to discuss why I think the original claim of "apple is used more in science" is silly, if you actually want to have a discussion.
This is why you don't deserve any reasonable responses.
Here is your "contribution" to the thread. Nothing but utter stupidity, and wasted bandwidth.
And then you wonder why you don't get a real response from me.
False.
Your posts about fulling utilizing your computer hardware with your IDEs is much more foolish, idiotic, moronic, and stupid than anything posted.
And to make it even more moronic, you don't even know WHY that statement is asinine.
You probably think you're maxing your your hardware when you're typing away on Notepad. Yes, that is how idiotic your post is.
10 seconds? not even my shitty pc that is using windows xp takes 10 seconds to load a webpage.
Go load cnn.com.
3 seconds for me..
It took me 84.23 milliseconds
This is an interesting and humorous debate. Do you prefer Porsche or Chevy? Well, hell ya I prefer the machine that costs triple. However, I have kids (3 currently in college) and I'm not buying any of them or me a Porsche. I'm sticking to my crappy Chevy and when I'm tired of it I won't upgrade it, I'll just buy another because they go on sale, super cheap.
When my kids are through college I may buy myself a Porsche, though I may just buy a cheap Chevy and put Linux on it. Like Denny I've used Unix/Linux since the 80s at work.
p.s. Denny, interested in a watch that doesn't need batteries or winding? Check this out:

16+ seconds on the 2nd load, meaning a lot of the page was already in my browser cache from the first load.
EDIT: fixed the 16 seconds load time #.
Haha.. I haven't worn a watch in maybe 20 years now. The last one I owned and wore looked like this:

pps. I think internet connection speed is actually much more important than software or hardware and mine sucks.

Holy shit I remembered those?!?! I wanted one soooo bad in junior high. I was like "I can cheat on my math test!"
Stopwatch, too. So I could time how slow Microsoft Windows was. (just kidding).
Denny you hear about Mac mini conversions as a server? For 999, you can have a 2 terabyte server and link it to a raid hard drive platform. Total system cost... $1,500
Mac Mini costs $599. A 3TB external USB 3 drive costs $112.15 on amazon.
http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/mac-mini?product=MD387LL/A&step=config
http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Expan...302&sr=1-1&keywords=3+tb+external+hard+drives
That's 3.5 terabytes for about $700.
This is all through thunderbolt. Also factoring the LCD monitor.
Well learn something new everyday!![]()
If you're reading/writing to multiple disks at the same time, you probably will see better throughput with thunderbolt.
Thunderbolt is ridiculously fast. Much much much faster than SSDs transfer data.
