Let's say Nurkic was 2017/Portland Nurk Fever for Denver (and Jokic never existed). And let's say CJ played for Orlando and was an All Star. And let's say Dame was All NBA First Team. Now let's say both CJ and Nurkic decided to come to Blazers as free agents this year. Would that make us a Super Team?

Yes, because they'd be shiny and new and we all know that shiny is better than good.

Man, I love your enthusiasm, but you must really enjoy getting flamed.

Perplexing query. You think differently than me.

No.

Next.

Yep. Super teams are a couple of games away from missing the playoffs and get swept in the first round.
It was never in doubt that we were making playoff last year. We went 0-4 on a road trip and lost to Memphis and Dallas and STILL got 3 seed.

Okay, just because I like your enthusiasm, i will try to play along.

IF we already had a credible starting five and a half way decent bench AND were able to pick up the three mentioned without losing much talent, then we would be a whole lot better than we are at this time. A "Super Team"? It would depend on who the original starting five were to begin with, but I honestly have to believe that we would be in somewhat the same position...still need two very good players, not just roster filler.

We had a 13 game win streak and were still only a couple games from missing the playoffs to teams with worse injury luck.

Same logic, applied differently.

Hell yes they're a SUPERTEAM. To us Blazers fans they sure are. Golden State, and the Fakers and all their bandwagon fans can eat a D*^K.

Yep. Without that 13 game win streak, we were middle of the road. Had we even went 11-2, it'd of changed everything.

Without that 6 game home losing streak, we would've won 55 games and would've finished closer to 2 seed than the 4 seed. Had we event went 5-1, that would still be true. It can both ways. You're choosing to be negative.

So if it can go both ways, then you either have to use it in both ways to be fairly objective, or you can't use that reasoning at all.

At least you admit it goes both ways. There's people that'll use it to support a positive or negative narrative, and then when you use the exact same logic in the opposite way, they'll act like the logic is stupid...

Mediocre = Charlotte Hornets and Denver Nuggets.
Denver arguably has a brighter future that us. They're 3-4 games behind us, with a much younger team, that just landed MPJ, who was presumably the number 1 pick a year ago, as well as Isaiah Thomas, who should make them slightly better as well.

Meanwhile, we're substituting Ed Davis and Shabazz Napier for Seth Curry and more Zach Collins.

Yikes.

Denver's also another example of a team that has an older "average age" but who's core is much younger and has much more potential.

To have a "superteam" you have to have Three Top 20 players.

We have 1.

Super Teams: The current iteration of the Warriors, the Heatles, the KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce Celtics with young Rondo. To be a super team you have to acquire some super star players to your roster and the sum total needs to be the favorite to win the Championship. So, no regardless of how we picked up CJ and Nurk, we would not be a super team.

DEN also has a defense that is worse than ours was pre-Nurkic. Let me know when they start playing defense, then I'll take notice.

Which is why I didn't say they're better than us now. But they were close last year, and should improve this season while having a younger core with more potential.
