I used to watch some, but aside from the occasional America's Got Talent I don't really. Just everything seems so scripted and dishonest.

Not as good as deadliest catch, but fighting the weather and trying to catch as many tuna in a season vs the other boats. All day on a boat, crew drama, losing fish and hauling in 200-1000 lb tuna on a fishing line. I love to fish, so I enjoy the show.

Basically everything I watch is reality based TV (weren't we having this discussion a couple weeks ago?). I watch mainly sports, true crime shows like 48 Hours, Dateline, Nightline, 60 minutes....Also, I love 'Locked Up Abroad' on Nat Geo. If you haven't watched that show your missing out on a great one. Other than that I watch a shit ton of documentaries. If I do watch sitcoms I like to watch old re-runs of sitcoms like Seinfeld, Fraser, King of Queens...shit like that. Or if I get stoned (which doesn't happen very often these days) I like to watch cartoons like Family Guy, Cleveland Show or South Park.

I'm a real person, who likes to keep shit REAL.

My wife and I watch Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother. I kinda like some of the Animal Plant/Discovery Channel reality shows... like Alaska The Last Frontier and some of the survival shows.

I don't like the reality TV shows that are contests, but I do like Deadliest Catch, and what not. Outside of that show, I don't really have any reality based TV shows I watch.

I USED to like American Pickers, but it started to get a little too convenient that they'd find a "honey hole", or a once in a life time find in a barn...plus...(see my comment below)

I think that's true of a lot of those "shows". To not only make it appear to be a lucrative job field, but make for interesting TV. I think American Picker and Pawn Store (or whatever that damn show is called) totally seeded their own shit. They were finding way to much high end shit in the middle of no where, or inflating the values of things.

I understand that they edit out a LOT of the shows, both for time and content, but it almost became a parody of itself after a few episodes.


My all time favorite reality show was Les Strouds Suvivorman.

Fuck no. "Reality" TV is such a misnomer. There is nothing real about it. Too much contrived and manufactured drama. I watched the very first Survivor series, but the final episode was just so over the top, it completely turned me off on the genre. If I'm going to watch something that's scripted anyway, I'd prefer good writing with well developed characters and plot lines and professional actors over some toothless hick so desperate for his 15 minutes of fame that he''ll gladly and completely humiliate himself in front of the camera. I guess for some that's the appeal - like gawking at a car accident. No thanks.
