Lol. I knew someone was going to make it a "you're a bad fan if..."

Nah, people can lose interest and be a fan. That's not up for debate either.

The definition of fanatic directly contradicts the idea of lost interest. That’s not up for debate either.

That could change if we moved CJ, Dame, Nance and Nurkic for a boatload of assets and started building around Simons, Little and our lotto pick this offseason.
I hear this a lot...
Build around Simons and Little.
I think that is a mistake. They are not "build around " talent.
That type of talent shows itself by season 3. (Trae, JA, Tatum, Garland, Edwards)
They are good, solid players who will have decent careers, but they are not cornerstones IMO.
Portland fans waaaaay overvalue their players.

Sadly, for me, I already gave a few years ago. Running out the same also rams every year is discouraging for THIS fan. With my medical history, it just hit me. I root for the team, and want them to win on a larger level, but wins and or losses during the season mean shit to me, knowing at the end of the season, it doesn’t matter

I cancelled my monthly league pass, Sling tv (TNT ESPN NBATV) and plan to stop following much of the team after the trade deadline.

There is no way to build a contender on this roster around Dame in the next years of his prime, the team doesn't seem realistic in their expectations of where this roster is at, and giving away 2 starters for scrubs shows we have incompetence at all levels of management.

I'm losing patience, interest, and passion for this franchise. I now plan to follow it much less.

Are you losing interest?
I've been losing more and more interest in the regular season in the last couple of years. This season, I basically scoreboard watch and look at the standings. It feels like no matter what game you watch, it just feels like a layup and 3-point contest.

The playoffs are more redeemable so I'll continue paying attention to that. As for our beloved Blazers, it is what it is. I conceded that there has been a couple of parallels between us and the Baltimore Ravens this year (yes, I'm a Ravens fan so that's why I made the comparison lol).

Dude, we aren't saying they are going to lead us to a title. It is a start. Banchero or Jabari Smith would be the types to potentially start the rebuild.

The hope would be we suck again next year and get another top 5 pick.

Banchero, top 5 pick, Simons, Little starts looking like a decent squad to build off of.

If you don't like them, move them too. I don't give a shit. Start the process. Get as many high lotto picks as you can. Do what OKC are doing.

Well if that's the case, you should be ecstatic over Cronin's move!!!

Didn't you know you can watch the 77 title on Youtube nowadays? Stop being selfish wanting to watch a title now. My goodness.

The only thing I'm really mad at right now is. why the hell is Tony Snell playing? The problem is, he can shoot (lately) and Elleby and Winslow can't. So I expect Winslow will replace Elleby instead of Snell.

I had totally lost interest when Dame ad CJ were both playing, awful boring ISO ball and Dame was hurt. Frankly I am behind a TOTAL blowup including Dame, like to watch the young guys play more "team ball", time to move on

Hayle Nah. Been a fan for forty years and was 10 and living in Portland when we won it all and Blazer Mania and Rip City were born. I'll never lose interest or not be a Rip City fan. What kind of blasphemy is this

Of course. These aren't the real Blazers. These are people filling laundry until next season. The idea that CJ Elleby is even on an NBA roster, much less a starter, is an insult to anyone with an interest in professional basketball.

Same, my interest in the NBA outside of the Blazers has been on the decline for 4-5 years now. Probably really starting with KD joining the Warriors and the shift to games becoming defenseless open gym 3 point shooting contests.

My Blazer interest is the lowest its been since probably 2005-06. Mostly due to the sense that the organization truly is now fundamentally broken and needs to be sold and basically rebuilt from the ground up. Thus it's pretty hard to gain any sense of even slight optimism for the future. Difficult to enjoy the hobby when my frustration runs that deep.

I do still love the team.

I became a Blazer fan the year they came into being. Now - I'm done. All I have left is the rage at the people who took it away from me.

Do you think it could return if they actually started following a sensible direction?

It would for me. 100%. I wish so much that we could all feel better about this teams direction.

I miss Paul Allen being our owner. It was an emotional day for many of us when he passed.

Time to turn the page and get a new ownership group.

People have a hard time understanding losing interest does not mean not being a fan. Just because the word is fanatic does not mean we have to BE a fanatic. We can go in waves and not prescribe literally to the definition of term.

Being a fan is a spectrum. Ever heard of casual fan? They are fans too, just more passive. Spectrum.

You can have a waning interest and still care about the team because the people running it are substandard at their jobs.

It's really not a hard concept to understand and frankly if you think fan only means one speed and that's blind following and always positive, and not being hard on the team, that's a you problem.

I'm still just a big of a "fan" but I lose interest and you need to be okay with the fact people can lose interest. And if youre not, that's your problem.

I'm not changing my stance, so don't try. Learn that being a fan can be different. That's your homework. Learn.

Yes because the management main goal is not winning and helping Dame. They keep looking for scrubs to fill the roster to just save them money. Jody is cheap not like Paul Allen.

As long as you guys are still visiting a Blazer message board, have you really lost interest?
thats right.....the anticipation of change one way or the other, with dreams of back to back to back and a new owner.
