I think Dame is adjusting from carrying a team on his own to getting his new teammates going/sharing the load.

Pistons championship squad with Billups was very balanced and I think Chauncey wants this Blazers to be like that.

What we're seeing is the learning curve.

Our team after trade deadline will not be the same. Until then, let the games happen, evaluate, make necessary changes.

Enjoy the ride!

We don't have anyone on our team other than Dame that is as good as anyone starting on that Pistons team except MAYBE Tayshaun Prince.

Sure but Billups ain’t Larry Brown by a long shot.

Surprisingly, their championship squad's numbers aren't impressive. They played great defense though. Also different era.

But we have a better chance at success if Dame doesn't need to put up crazy numbers on the regular for us to win because his teammates help him.

Ant needs to improve from his play last year. Nurk needs to dunk more and baby hook less. JG continue what he's shown in preseason. The SF spot is def our weakest link.

Has nothing to do with numbers. Rasheed Wallace would average 20+ on out current team. So would Hamilton. They were all really good players sacrificing. Grant and Ant are not Rip, Ben Wallace or Rasheed.

Dame does need to do less. We just don't have the talent for him to be able to if we want to win games.

I'm not sure things are as bad as they look in these preseason games maybe they are but maybe the team and coaching staff are trying to play these games with just one part of our offense that we can call "Chauncey Ball" while the plan is to play "Chauncey Ball" on only around 1/3 of set plays and the other two thirds have us playing "Dame Ball" with the only difference between that and "Stoffense" being more movement away from the Dame/Nurk pick and roll.

The explanation for why we haven't seen more "Dame Ball" in the preseason games could definitely be that the team seems to have those sets down in scrimmages and like we're seeing in these games are struggling with "Chauney Ball" so they're trying to get them more live game reps with that before the games count. Or we could be totally fucked. We'll have to wait and see. This theory still doesn't explain why we can never seem to close out and make three point shots difficult for our opponents. Clippers 39.5%, Jazz 45.5%, Kings 46.7% from three against us. No bueno.

Sheed never averaged 20ppg when he played while he was here. Why would he now?

In an interview before the 2nd preseason game against Utah, Chauncey said he treats these preseason games as practice. Maybe winning is less of a priority and experimenting other schemes is what they're concerned about.

I wanna see this team play regular season games with GP2. We play tough teams to start the season but we should have a better idea by Christmas

He would by far be our 2nd best player and in today's NBA playing Center would destroy fools.
You are wasting your time posting well thought out posts based on common sense to that dude. I have to remind myself every day of this.

He could’ve scored 20ppg back then but he wasn’t interested and that wouldn’t change now. I think he would be our best player overall now. Sheed is one of my fave players ever.

Tari Eason is CRUSHING it.

He's a boxscore monster.

But he's been +/- negative for the majority of the games somehow.

And now the preseason is gone. Don't let the door hit you on your way outta here. That was fucking awful.

All of these guys talking about how they got to the facilities like three or four weeks before camp and then come out and look like they didn't even have a camp. Kind of a head scratcher but I guess we'll see how things go when the games start to matter in a little over a week. I know one thing seems to be consistent from every year since the LMA, Wes, Nic, RoLo mass exodus... we can not seem to defend the three ball... holy fucking shit we get lit up.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that this hasn't been indicative of how our season is going to go because if it is... we won't win one game. We lost to every NBA team we played in the preseason.

Wow, I wish I had players like Norman Powell coming off our bench this season. Roco as well.

Ready to lose.
He is in his 20th season and is playing amazing. Do you not agree with this? Didn’t you say 3 years ago how “old” he was looking? I can’t remember.

They lost.
In fact, I believe they are now favored to win the West partially because of the depth and strength of their bench. Strange that if you truly believe we have a better bench than they do, why they aren’t predicting us to win more than 39 games bro? Your opinoin.

I didn’t realize Minny picked up Kyle Anderson. That’s a great addition to their squad. I think Memphis will miss him.
