They've done it on purpose for the last game of the season the last few years but this is earlier and no I don't think that happened much.

I think the NBA started doing this a year or so ago so teams didnt know the outcome of other games that impacted their playoff picture.
If you look at the schedule on Sunday, eastern conference teams play each other at the same time in the afternoon and the western conference teams play each other in the evening. The only exception is the Bulls vs Mavs game.

I think they saved that for inclement weather makeup games. Seems like most years they have at least one or two games that need to be made up for one reason or another. Didn't a game once get cancelled for a shooting or something like that also. We know weather has caused some issues at times.
