No idea. He's a pair of suspenders away from looking like an Oompa Loompa.

If George tells Oklahoma City that he's leaving regardless, their title contention is completely gone. At that point, it's pretty irrelevant for them how good Golden State is. Getting two solid players who fit in around Russell Westbrook may be more important to them than avoiding dealing with the team who took Durant.

I definitely think it's incredibly improbable that Golden State gets George without giving up someone like Thompson, but I'm amused that they keep swinging for the fences even up 12 in the ninth inning.
I don't see the front office pissing off the entire fan base to get Iggy and Livingston so that they can contend for the 8th seed.

The worse they get, the likelier Westbrook leaves. Iguodala and Livingston are solid players, significantly better than losing George for nothing in terms of current success. Losing Westbrook would be much more devastating with fans than dealing with Golden State.

any interest in Shabazz? what can we offer (if we can or would want to) given our cap situation?

"
The Minnesota Timberwolves are attempting to re-sign Shabazz Muhammad in free agency.

The Wolves allowed Muhammad to become an unrestricted free agent after it looked like he wouldn't fit into their plans. The Wolves can only offer Muhammad the veteran's minimum.

Muhammad's market in free agency has been more tepid than some expected."

The veteran's minimum or the tax-payer's MLE (entirely or part of it). As I recall, Portland hasn't used it yet.

At this point, any offer we make Muhammad would just be doing both him and MIN a big fat favor. MIN is over the cap, has no exceptions left to use and Muhammad is a UFA. The most they can offer him directly is a min contract. But, if someone offers him more, they can, and likely will, match.

MIN currently only has 11 players under contract, and as mentioned have no exceptions left. They need bodies, but can only offer min contracts. So, anything we can offer him, up to, and including our full non-tax payer MLE ($5.2 million) would get Muhammed more money than the Wolves can currently offer, and it lets MIN get a better player than anyone else they could get on a min contract. Win:wiin for Muhammed and MIN. Nothing in it for us.

Wrong. It said Wolves let him become an UNRESTRICTED free agent so that the could complete the transactions they've already done.

At this point, Muhammad is free to go to the highest bidder & Wolves can't do anything about it.

I'd try to see if the bi-annual exception could land him. $3M or so for a couple years.

Right, my bad, I completely glossed over the UNrestricted part.

Of course that makes sense. They would have had to renounce his rights to clear the $7.6 million cap hold off their books in order to sign Jeff Teague for $19 million a year.
