Predictability ruins any drama or excitement. Last year was the first season ever I didn't watch the Finals.....not even one game. This year will be the 2nd.
Great. Then predict the finals for me. Then we can see if you were right.

Playoffs have really become a 3 point chucking contest haven't they? Why do teams feel the need to jack so many? Maybe if you're actually hitting them then fine, but damn. I guess they feel they have to when matched with the Warriors.
It’s just Dantoni offense. Threes and layups early in the clock, fast paced offense.

That's what people said when GS was up 3-1 in 2016. We'll see. LeBron is better this year than he was last year.

Lebron had a good team then. Now he has a pile of shit

In my case as soon as the Blazers are out, it hasn't drawn me into watching many playoff games afterwards...sometimes I'll watch a quarter...it hasn't really entertained me the way it used to.

It's been probably a decade since anything beyond the Blazers in the basketball world has enticed me to watch.

Unless I want to sleep - because then it's like watching Friends Season 2 Episode 5 for the 40th time, I know what's going to happen so I can just sleep.

I do not get what is so great about James Harden. He's not special at all.
He’s a great player but drives me fucking crazy constantly trying to draw fouls. Some people respect that, I think it’s a cop out. Play the damn game. Imagine harden in pick up, this dude would be calling foul on all his drives.

Also, I'd like to point out that not everyone is predicting who will WIN the finals, but that the same participants ENTER the finals. A very notable distinction, and I'd gather people really dont care after that.

I love basketball, I just do and even when the NBA is making me want to take my TV and launch it out the window, I'll probably still find a way to watch. It's weird right now, because literally everyone person I've talked to at work, or friends all basically say they don't watch the NBA any more, be it officiating, or no parity or whatever. My dad even who in a lot of ways inspired my love for the game, only watches here and there (though I know he scoreboard watches a lot). He just keeps saying it's not fun when you know who's going to be there at the end every year.
It has led me to believe, that the NBA has changed it's target demographic, and middle aged guy, older guy I just don't think we are there target anymore.
I'm not sure what they're targeting but the ratings keep going up while more and more of the people I know are falling off, so whatever they are doing is obviously working from a business standpoint.

Congratulations NBA, you guys have effectively killed your sport. You guys have made the regular season pointless, and the first 3 rounds of the playoffs a runner-up contest.

You have effectively made a die-hard basketball fan who doesn't watch hockey more interested in the Stanley Cup Finals than you're crappy championship.

No parity, all repetition. Why don't we make the Cavaliers and Warriors play 15 seven-game series all year and have the other 28 teams compete for a runner-up championship? And then afterwards, maybe we can do a fantasy draft so that there can be more than two teams vying for the championship? That last 6 years, it's LeBron vs. Curry, or LeBron vs. Duncan.

In the NHL, an expansion team made the finals.

Fix your goddamn league.
Yeah it’s a bit ridiculous. We all knew the warriors would probably be back in the finals. Before it started I called warriors Cavs and so did a lot of other people. Had doubts when the Cavs were struggling. This is why stern vetoed the cp3 to LA trade. Adam silver should of stepped in when the warriors could sign Durant just for the leagues sake. All these stupid ass super teams. That all started with the heat and Celtics. The idea of a big three. It’s just stupid. Now you have stars trying to pair with other stars and make super teams and it fucks small market teams like Portland. We can’t land shit because of it.

Chris- tell me exactly what is going to happen, game by game. Then we have it on record and see if, in fact, "we" knew what was gonna happen.

Warriors will dominate the cavs in 5 games

I enjoyed Boston as much as any playoff series post Blazers exit...that team is well put together...I actually watched more of their games qtr wise than any other

When Lebron comes West this summer there won't be much of an East. Hell the NBA may not let Lebron go west.
I thought for sure Lebron would leave and maybe he still does but I think he stays. Of course that could all change in a month but they made it to the finals again and I don’t see what his reason for leaving other than the fact his supporting cast sucks. I don’t know if he wants that heat from his hometown again.

I guess. Celtics did it last night as well tho and they def didn't have too since Cleveland isn't a huge 3 point juggernaut team. NBA today just has teams jacking 3s and usually it is contested awful 3s.

Exactly

Because he knows his team won't beat a healthy Celtics team next season

I think also it’s the evolution of the game as many nba teams are taking more threes. Bigs have to be versatile now and be able to hit threes.

True but he will still have the best path. The west will stay better than the east by a long shot. All Cavs have to compete with next season is the Celtics and Toronto again. I feel like the Celtics are taking over next season though in the east at least with Kyrie and Hayward back

Celtics will definately be the team to beat in the East. Cavs will try and make some moves to get better. No doubt they call about CJ. I hope Neil laughs at thrm and hangs the phone.....or you know what just hangs it up without a word

It's the Warriors and LeBron playing so well. Plus, injuries to Kawhi, Kevin, Kyrie, and CP3 have helped the Warriors through it all. Not their fault but has made things easier on him. If Boston and Houston had made it, which very nearly happened, would you still be complaining?
Nope, I wouldn't be complaining, because it'd be fresh instead of something I've seen for 4 STRAIGHT YEARS...

NBA has been this way for a long time. Usually a couple dominate teams. Many more dynasties or close to being dynasties in NBA history than other leagues. No matter how much the same finals over and over stinks, it doesn't seem to hurt the league. You still watched to this point even though you knew the outcome. The NBA is printing money these days.
No, it hasn't been. This is the first time in the history of Pro American Sports that the same two teams have faced each other in 4 straight championship matchups.

I've watched until now, like I always have, but not quite as much. I don't watch the Finals, except for (maybe) the end of any very close games.

I read that...not sure it's true of world sports though...Davis Cup tennis...World Cup...America's Cup..Rugby...other sports not so popular here....I know Manchester United and Arsenal have been arch rivals forever...there have been some dominant players in golf and many individual sports. Somebody around here would probably know.

Individual sports don't really apply. It's never a 1v1 in golf... in Tennis, they have 4 majors a year.. but it's also a different setup.

all sports apply if you want them to...that's a choice...squash...ping pong..I mentioned that...there have been dominant matchups throughout history...tennis has teams too...Davis Cup....beach volleyball....I point out that there's more out there than basketball baseball hockey and football
