Lakers would love that!Silver is considering getting rid of the NBA draft and making all rookies free agents to solve tanking.
If that happens its time to stop being a Blazers fan. We would never be able to compete.Silver is considering getting rid of the NBA draft and making all rookies free agents to solve tanking.
we agree on that. It's a dumb idea based upon a tanking problem that isn't much of a problem in the first placeIf that happens its time to stop being a Blazers fan. We would never be able to compete.
I think you could still have teams tanking that would make the play in. If they had the same odds as the 13th worst team as the 1st team, and the draft had someone like Wemby, and the team thought they overachieved and had no chance at contending, they may tank too. What you do is have the draft, but give everyone that didn't make the playoffs the same odds at getting the first pick. Then there is no need or incentive for tanking.
Great Oden's beard!Wow, so we could have had Oden, but instead of a rookie contract, we would have given him the max.
Then tanking would happen higher in the standings to make play-in but blow it and get maybe the #1 pick. What you do is have the draft, but give everyone that didn't make the playoffs the same odds at getting the first pick. Then there is no need or incentive for tanking.
Pretty awesome that Hornets and Pistons could meet in first round.I'm going to guess those were the Hornets announcers based on their obvious bias.
Terrible idea. Unless the goal is to favor big market and marquee teams. Come to think of it....Silver is considering getting rid of the NBA draft and making all rookies free agents to solve tanking.
Don’t see how they think this would ever lead to competitive balance.Terrible idea. Unless the goal is to favor big market and marquee teams. Come to think of it....
it's a crazy format. If you needed to win by 2 to rech the finals and the opponent was up by two and you had the last shot, your only option is to send the game to extra time and win there because winning by one gets you the win for that game while simultaneously eliminating you out of the finalsSo World just has to win this game by 3 and they’re in the final.
