There's no way would New Orleans would have traded 6'11" , 21-year-old , 8th overall pick, Hayes for CJ McCollum or Larry Nance or both of them. Think about it.
I did think about it, a former lotto pick who comes off the bench amid RECENT legal troubles would of been obtainable. Being a former lottery pick means nothing, Winslow and McLemore are former lotto picks. Are you saying you don’t think they would of traded Hayes for CJ and Nance straight up? Lol ok.

high usage inefficient 20 pt scorer. he's not this supposed 3&d guy that people make him out to be.

he mighta been in denver but he doesn't want to be that anymore.

ive been low on him for a while-- his impact is quite similar to norman powell's.
If Greg Brown III can turn into a rotation player by the end of the season we don't have the need at SF/ PF like we did before. Little, Brown, Watford, Hart (and even Elleby if he's back) can fill the SF/PF positions.
I think Brown could eventually be the shot-blocking, switchable defensive PF that we should hope for at that position. If Little is playing SF and Brown is at PF and Nurk at Center that's quite a gauntlet near the hoop.
Of offense, trying to stop the fast break of Hart, Little, and Brown would be difficult.

Asking the very raw Brown to be a rotational player in year 2 is a bigger gamble than asking Little to stay healthy for 60 games. We need upgrades in the frontcourt. I like both players but Little needs to prove some durability and GB3 needs at least another year of seasoning before I’m depending on either for the success of the team.

He's 21 years old. Simons was coming off the bench this season. No, I don't think they would have traded Hayes for CJ and Nance straight up. Edit: Simply because it's not the trade New Orleans wanted to make.

I'll wait until the playoffs. Harden has a tendency to underwhelm in the playoffs.
Harden's on a very different team now. He's already an assist machine playing with the 76ers. He had 12 assists in his first game, and has 10 assists in just the first half against the Knicks today. Harden is taking about the same number of shots as Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.
From the little I've seen so far, he's made Maxey into a bigger weapon on offense. Maxey is fast down the court and Harden is looking to pass the ball. Maxey is also a 40 percent 3-point shooter. He's likely to get more open 3-point attempts with Harden on his team.
I think this is the role Harden was hoping for in Brooklyn.

Harden's role with the 76ers is a role/style that Damian Lillard should try to duplicate in Portland. Simons and Hart could be very efficient catch-and-shoot 3-point shooters for Lillard to pass ahead to or out to if he's driving the lane.

Randle is just terrible and has that big contract also; I am sure Cronin never considered for a moment trading for him.

Started to watch Jerami Grant a little closer.
Last night he was 3-15 (0-6 from deep)
1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block in 31 minutes.

ouch

His rebounding has never been good for a front court player getting that type of money. 4.1 RPG....that is not good. His 3-pt shooting isn't very good, and defensively, he has declined. Would much rather have Collins or Wood, but Dame seems to like Grant due to their friendship at the Olympics.

I don’t think I ever watched Whiteside play this well for Portland?

It's safe to assume that not many watch Detroit games, so Grant's perceived value is probably mostly based on what people remember of him from The Bubble.

He was a nice, energy guy on a cheap contract before that. He was never much more than a player who annoyed defenses that overlooked him.

College - yesterday the top 6 ranked teams all lost.

[Grits teeth] STILL HAPPY FOR CJ!!!

Isn't John Collins one of the worst power forwards on defense in the league?

ranks 7th among 82 PF's, both in RPM and DRPM. As a gauge, Collins has a +3.73 DRPM; Justice Winslow has a -0.62

he's one of two Atlanta rotational players with a + differential in defensive rating +1.2 (Capela is the other). Any time a player has a better rating than his team there's a decent chance he's at least average as a defender, but that also has to be gauged by how bad his team is at defense, and the Hawks are bad

I knew Westbrook would not work well when both he and LBJ were on the floor together. But I did buy into the theory that when LBJ was hurt (or resting) he could carry the team long enough to keep them in the race. WTF happened? LBJ is playing great and they still suck!

They gave up all their role players to get Russ, and he is doing exceptionally little to contribute. He's become a net negative whether or not he's on the court.

In Russ fashion he will put together a run of 10 games, with padded triple doubles, before playoffs and Laker fans will get that warn fuzzy. He's always padded his stats and it got him in best 75 club and probably HOF.

Just to let you know..... One of our most popular big white american born centers has returned to RipCity. Just saw him on crutches at PDX. Sorry, was talking to him and didn't think to try and get a blurry pic.
