This could also just be a ploy to maintain a high trade value. If rumors become abundant that he isnt gonna resign, then it puts Sac in a terrible spot because the other teams know they can just wait until FA. With this going around, not teams will offer more in a trade scenario. Or feel they have to to pull him away.
