Sidebar, did anyone catch that Dame liked a photo on IG of Melo trade stuff yesterday?

Why would Dame like this?

Why would he want to come here? We have a crappy market and an even worse team.

Besides, he would not help us at all.

Getting Melo would be the kind of desperation move that GMs do to salvage jobs. Neil better not be thinking anything of the sort

how ever
that WOULD fall under that "move that doesn't make any sense at all" that @TBpup mentioned hearing about the other day now doesn't it....?

Knicks get: Meyers, Ezeli, Crabbe, Layman, Connaughton
Blazers get: Carmelo Anthony, first round pick

Who says no? Knicks get a young seven-footer who can shoot, one of the finest shooting wings in the NBA, a great energy guy, a two-sport star and an expiring contract. Too much? Are we getting ripped off here? I'm new to this trade proposal thing.

Melo has a no-trade clause. Only teams I could see him agreeing to go to are CLE, LAC and CHI. While he isn't what he was, the Knicks can't really get value for him for that fact.

Melo will never waive his no-trade clause to come to Portland. If he leaves New York it will be to a comparable city (Los Angeles or Chicago, neither is as good but still) or a contender (only Cavs).

Melo's wife has him under her thumb. They aren't leaving New York unless she wants to.

That's hillarious

Carmel will leave but not to the Blazers. He hasn't done a whole lot as a knick...makes sense to get rid of him while they can still get something.

During a Tuesday meeting, Carmelo Anthony informed Phil Jackson he intends to remain with the New York Knicks and has no desire to waive his no-trade clause.

Which is great news. I never wanted us to trade for Melo years ago when he could play BB. Now that he is semi-retired, he makes no sense at all.

76ers have scoring margin of a 56-win team with Embiid on the floor this season.
And scoring margin of 11-win team with him off the floor.

When Simmons starts playing (possibly after the AS break) the 76ers are going to be scary good. They are one piece away from a contending roster. They have the assets (extra big and draft picks) to get the last piece.

I love Embiid. His reactions are awesome, he's always smiling, asking the crowd to stand up and cheer, such an entertainer and seems to love playing the game so much. Philadelphia fans must love having him there after those grim years. They had to wait two years for him but God was it worth it.
