* Blazers still have 9 games till the trade deadline and 13 games till the all-star break.

* 7 of the 9 games till the deadline are against teams with winning records, and one of the other games is against the Spurs who haven't been a push-over lately

* 9 of the 13 games before the break are against teams with winning records, and of the 4 that aren't, there's the game against the Spurs, and two games against Memphis and New Orleans who are 8-2 and 7-3 respectively over their last 10.

considering the way Portland has been playing, and their record against good teams, a realistic guess-timate of their record at the break might be 21-34
*********************************************************

* after the break, Portland has 27 games. 11 on the road and 16 at home.

* only 9 of the 27 games are against teams with winning records

Portland's schedule has always had them set up for a hot streak after the break. They might have Nurkic back before the break, and might get Collins back with 2-3 weeks left in the season. The problem is, if Portland has 21 wins at the break, even something like a 20-7 record after the break would only get the Blazers to a .500 record. That might land them at 7th or 8th seed, but leave them matched up against a much better top-seed.

and of course we don't know what will happen before the trade deadline. If the Blazers trade away Whiteside, they are trading away their only paint presence and their best rebounder and rim protector. That would likely mean even more losses

Mozel tov to Warriors president Rick Welts on his marriage to partner Todd Gage. San Francisco mayor London Breed officiated. They will divide their time between Bay Area and Sacramento, where Gage's son attends high school.

1-17 from 3? Really?
He literally got 29 points from 29 shots.

Zion still at 285? looks 25-30lbs overweight, leg is still wonky n bothering him, and didnt seem to run/move right.

kinda amazed with that much time out he couldnt diet n lose some lbs.

Zion looks like a top 20 player already.

I could shoot 1 for 17 from 3:angel:
After watching you i'm sure you could. We all Know Harden can shoot better than that. For the last week or so he had some stinkers. I think the defense the Blazers used showed the blueprint on exactly how to disrupt harden and best the Rockets. Heavy stunts and double while letting Westbrook shoot at will pretty much. It helps when the refs don't bail him out on every move he makes. He still got 29 points on 29 shots so Harden was getting to the line a bit.

I was kinda feeling sorry for the kid when he had like 5pts and 5 turnovers through three quarters, and then he just went off. Holy hell, we're in trouble.

He just got hot from totally unguarded 3s. Why is everyone acting like he did some crazy things.

It showed that teams who dare him to shoot from outside may have to rethink that strategy. If he makes the three consistently, he'll be a nightmare to defend on the perimeter.

If he does yes, but I'm gonna need to see that for more than one game to believe it. On the other hand when he tried to do what's supposed ti be his game he looked pretty unimpressive and had a ton of bad turnovers.
It's just one game so I'm not saying that he isn't gonna be good but I don't get why everybody is losing their mind from this one game

Because it was fun and that’s why I watch basketball.

Is anyone else watching TNT but getting the audio from the PA at Barclays Center?

Because we know if he didn't have that hot stretch, you'd be digging his grave right now.

As would a few others. Nobody is letting this kid be 19. He better produce and he better produce NOW!

See, Ben Simmons? See what happens when you hit a few consistent jump shots?

Ben Simmons with a jumper would be early-career Jason Kidd wrecking ball combined with late-career Jason Kidd spot-up shooter combined with Magic Johnson's size. Or Magic Johnson with Scottie Pippen's defense. Or Darko with game.
