It's per-100 possessions. Chamberlain played a ridiculous number of minutes per game at a time when there was many more possessions per minute--the scoring rates imply that if Chamberlain played the same number of minutes and possessions as Harden, he'd score less.

I'm actually not sure if they have those numbers, but I've always read that the environment in the 1960s was the fastest paced in the history of the game.

The NBA and NBPA really need to increase the retirement for players. This structure for Reebok might be a good model.

There should never be NBA athletes that made over $20 million and end up decades later totally broke. Have a way of setting aside a couple million of that and it can be a comfortable retirement no matter what stupid decision, fraud, addiction, mental health, etc a player does.

I know the NBA started some of this in 2011, they just need to expand that.

You'd probably have to structure annual contracts like the lottery: take 50% of it now, or 10% of it each year spread over 10 years.

In regards to Wilt, and pace of the game, the year he averaged 50 ppg, their team pace was 131.1, their ORtg was an abysmal 94.5
The fastest paced team this year is the Bucks at 105, and the worst ORtg is the Warriors at 105.2
