Agreed that Crabbe's contract is still bad, but probably so is CJ's.

How about Mike Conley's albatross of a contract?

5 year / $152,605,576

This dude isn't even a top 5 point guard. It's absurd. They should have blown it up. That team has no shot at winning a championship, their window is closed, and they're pulling a Mark Cuban and trying to keep their sinking ship afloat. Huge waste of money.

Nah, not being a top 5 point guard in this current league does not really mean you are not worth a max. Lillard, Lowry or Walker are not top 5 point guards either arguably but still deserve high contracts. Conley does the job at both ends of the floor and runs that team, his peak coincides with Gasol's too and they have both been good this season. You don't let talent like that leave.

Besides they would comfortably trade him if they wanted.

C.J.'s isn't. He's one of the 5 best SGs in the league and over half the teams would love to have him in spite of his contract.

Crabbe isn't even one of the top 5 sixth men. There's probably only 3 or 4 teams that would even consider him. Those are the teams that are under the cap and so desperate for outside shooting Carbbe would start for them.

I don't know....

You think they could comfortably trade a guy making $30 million a year?

He's 29 years old.

He's averaging 20 ppg, 6 assists, 3.5 rebounds

He missed significant playing time last year, and he has missed 12 games so far this year.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not investing 150 million in that guy, and they're floundering... they just came off a 5 game losing streak. Their best players are injury prone. Not really a rock solid foundation.

What always got me is why Marc Gasol resigned there when Zbo was getting old, Tony Allen was getting old, they would always get bounced from the playoffs but then LMA leaves the younger up and coming team with Lillard

Loyalty, seriously though Gasol should be extremely thankful to the Grizzlies franchise, they are the ones who got him in shape and developed him into a top 5 center in the NBA.

I think he would be extremely hard to trade.

Milwaukee would trade Delly, Teletovic, another contact, and a pick for Conley in a heartbeat.

One could argue he isn't even top 10.

Signed,

Westbrook
Harden
Paul
Wall
Curry
Irving
Walker
Thomas
Dame

Kyle

Crabbe is a top 5 three point shooter.

That still doesn't make him a top 6th man. He's too one dimensional and almost 100% reliant on others to create for him. I guarantee you won't finish in the top 5 in 6th Man of the Year voting, likely not even in the top 10.
