Interesting headline regarding the NBA:

NBA executives discuss shifting schedule to avoid competing with NFL in the fall

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...dule-to-avoid-competing-with-nfl-in-the-fall/

For me this would be great for attending more nice-weather games and having more daylight before games. I assume it would be an improvement for fans in other cities too.

The current schedule also overlaps the NHL so it could help teams in NHL cities. Maybe they could try putting a team in Vancouver again with one on Seattle.

Turnovers....I don't count that kind. Clyde Drexler got shorted on a real Quadruple douple when he was with the Rockets. Someone went back and showed that the scorer missed some stats.

Lo and fucking behold:

Guy on the radio this morning was saying that basically KD and Kyrie went to the nets but never gave Atkinson a chance and was trying to get rid of him from the start so they could pick their own coach.

That is ridiculous on their part then. Unless Atkinson was in over his head and had/has no interpersonal skills (which I doubt given the emergence of the Nets last season), this furthers the proof of them being primadonnas.

So it was a new york (national) show I was listening too, and he was chronicalling basically Kyrie didnt do a bunch of normal off season stuff with the team and coach, and basically he said that there was enough public evidence to show that KD / Kyrie wanted their own guy, he also claimed to have some knowledge of behind the scenes stuff. I just thought it was interesting. It was a radio guy at 7am on a saturday so who knows if he was credible or not.

That is terrible. Those guys knew who the coach when they chose the Nets. First they need DJ, now they need Lue. This shit is going to blow up in their faces. Nets would've been better if they didn't get these guys. Look how Levert and Allen are developing. Should've continued to develop them and build around them.

Watching this Lakers vs Clippers game makes me feeling a lot better for tanking. No way the Blazers have a chance against one of these teams. It would be a sweep

Thank you! To think some clowns on here wanted that 8th seed so bad. Just to have the chance for Dame to add another 1st round exit on his resume if not another sweep on his resume

Yeah those guys are just dumb

I'd love to see you open your big mouth and say that to Lillard as he wants to make the playoffs along with his teammates. They say you and your kind are the clowns.

I can get the argument of its not your year tank and get a pick for talent. Thats a management decision, and I “get it”, even if Im not a fan of it.

I dont get this oh its bad for Dames “resume” to get beat in the 1st round, like missing the playoffs is good for his resume argument. I dont get this oh he’s not trying when he carried the team most of the year argument.

But whatever...

Millsap's free agency is one of the more underrated stories heading into the summer.

Some defensive numbers...

Jokic + Paul Millsap = 105.2 pts/100 possessions (90th percentile / 1831 possessions)
Jokic + Jerami Grant = 113.9 pts/100 possessions (25th percentile / 1747 possessions)
Jokic + Michael Porter Jr. (Millsap OFF) = 121.5 pts /100 possessions (2nd percentile / 454 possessions)

I wonder if the Blazers have a chance at Millsap this summer with the Full-MLE. You'd think he'd get more than that but he is 35 so I wonder if giving him 3 years could be the difference.

Yes, he's very underrated. He's also 35 years old. 4 months OLDER than Ariza. (He is a good 9 months younger than Carmelo, though.)

Not the NBA but if the Blazers are looking for a coach?

"It was the third title in three years of high-school coaching for Brandon Roy."

I wonder if he'd want to come back. I'd love to see him as an assistant coach. Can he test the waters by coaching Summer League?
IF WE HAD A G-LEAGUE TEAM he could start there...
But on the other hand - has anyone ever made the jump from high school coaching?
But on the other, other hand, there have certainly been ex-NBA players who STARTED by being NBA coaches. (Like, ugh, Mark Jackson.)
