Wouldn't've needed it if Austin Rivers hadn't just missed 2 FTs.Griffin missed game winning shot against MIA
interesting how out of sorts CLE is, "if" it continues have to wonder what they do with Lebron/Love and if they might be tempted to trade their Nets pick to win nowSaw the final 30 seconds of Cavs v Hawks game replay, Hawks were actually trying to lose on purpose and not even hiding it. Dropping the ball, going out of bounds, missing two free throws at 117-115 with 18 seconds to go (it was actually 115-108 just a few seconds before!) and then leaving EVERYONE open for a winner three for Cavs, and giving it a half arsed attempt at rebounding after they missed it too. Hilarious to watch.

Dame and C.J. need to start recruiting LeBron NOW (privately) to convince him his best chance to beat the Warriors and win another ring is to join a team with a core in their prime, and not team up with other over-the-hill banana boaters or babysitting a bunch of teenagers in LA.
Any lack of contention/fit issues from HOU and OKC helps our case.

I said before that Lebron was more likely to come to Portland than Melo, mainly because Lebron actually enjoys the city. Olshey also has a history with him and that history was a big reason why the clippers got a meeting with him in free agency before he went to Miami.
I'd still put the odds at somewhere less than 10%.
Then there's the whole issue of how do we clear space to sign him? Sign and trade with CJ going home to Ohio? But why would Lebron want to come here if we didn't have CJ. Does he like Dame and Nurk that much? Lol
What's the least LeBron would take to play for a true contender? Too bad the Crabbe TPE can't be combined with another player as it only gets us to $13 million.

Lebron taking a paycut to come to Portland just seems laughable to me, mainly because I don't think his decision will be 100% basketball based.
Schuman's NBA power rankings have us at 8th today...that's a big leap from the middle of the pack ranking before..Looks like we slid 2 spots.......

I think LeBron coming to Portland sounds laughable period.
But, if we're going to dream, we might as well dream big...

Damian is already only the 3rd player in the history of the game to put up 59 points with no turnovers. And he is the only person to ever do it with 9+ three pointers.Could you imagine this place if Dame got 56&13
Yeah, it'd be much more impressive than Harden's because Lillard plays in a "flow" offense which values ball movement and team passing, compared to an iso-centric system that relies on one star player.Could you imagine this place if Dame got 56&13
There are close to 450 players in the league that would love to put up that stat line and I'm damn sure they could give a shit about HOW they got it. Not a lot of payers in the history go this game that could do that. Is it that hard to give credit to one of the best players in the game? Whether you like the team he plays on or him.Yeah, it'd be much more impressive than Harden's because Lillard plays in a "flow" offense which values ball movement and team passing, compared to an iso-centric system that relies on one star player.
Didn't you ask me how I would react when we were 16-4? I think it was after our 2-0 start. I asked you the significance of that game total. You didn't respond. Was that just 1/4 of the season? We could conceivably build an 8-game winning streak over the next few games resulting in us being 12-4.
Our next 6 oponents:
Home: MEM, DEN, ORL, SAC, BKN
Away: SAC
We are better than all 6 of those teams. I do expect us to lay an egg in one of those games, but 11-5 is still nice.
This. Harden is one of the best players in the game. As far as offense, I can't think of anyone better. He is easy to hate because of Houston, and the way he tries to pick up fouls, but if they are going to call those fouls, it is only smart to try to get free points at the line. I don't like the Rockets or Harden, but he is an elite player. Common sense right here. Not really that hard to acknowledge it either.This. Harden is one of the best players in the game. As far as offense, I can't think of anyone better. About Westbrook though, he is also an elite player. No doubt. There is no one at the PG position who can physically do the things that he does. And watching him go all out is fun. He's like a rabid pitbull. But, that represents a fundamental flaw for him too. That go-all-out effort is a double edged sword. It can slice the opposition to shreds or damage his own team. There is nothing cerebral about it. It hurt his team in last night's game.Common sense right here. Not really that hard to acknowledge it either.
LeBron has already pocketed more money than God. If I had that much bank, I wouldn't care 2 cents about money at my next stop. I'd at least help my new team manage and structure its payroll to maximize the roster, not deplete it. Maybe that's just me.What's the least LeBron would take to play for a true contender?
