I hadn't thought of it but I just checked: Sharpe is 3 months older than Coward

obviously, in a too small sample size Coward is playing above his ceiling while Sharpe is playing at his floor. Crazy stat is Sharpe is averaging 3.1 more points on 7.7 more shots

I'm not intending to troll like Aldo but I do think the Blazers may end up regretting that draft-day trade....unless that 2028 pick is lottery

10 games in and not starting so he's playing against role players and about now will is scouted thoroughly. Lets see what his numbers are at 30 games.

Thank you

that's why I mentioned the sample size. There's no way Coward keeps posting a .701 TS%. That just doesn't seem sustainable. And, after only playing 6 games last year in college, sometime during the 82 game NBA season he's going to slam into that rookie wall

still, there's little doubt he belongs in the NBA. I was just a little surprised he's younger than Sharpe, but I probably shouldn't have been, considering.

I think what people fail to realize when we make these comments is, we are just daydreaming. Yes, we all want Yang to succeed. Yes, we all like the extra picks we got. But it is painful seeing a guy we could have drafted ball out on a cheap 4 year cost controlled contract.

Like really, whats the different if we took Coward and dangled Sharpe to improve elsewhere? I like Sharpe and hope he takes a step forward, but I like the Blazers more than any one player and just want the best team on the floor. Yangs trade value today is probably minimal. Especially after his showings so far this year. Coward could end up one of the most valuable contracts in the league or he could still regress into an average wing.

It will be followed all year long though. As a what if.

I don't think anyone disagrees. But yes, your comment makes me think.

Even now, Edgecombe is starting to slow down after his hot start. Then, remember that last season, Knecht was viewed as a legitimate stud throughout November only to become trade bait a few months later.

In the past, players like Tyreke Evans, OJ Mayo, Brandon Jennings, Dennis Smith Jr, also started off strong or even had great rookie seasons that made it look like they were going to be the next great guard.

I will say Coward looks very composed, however. Knows when to cut and move off ball and how to use his frame to his advantage. His elite college TS% was also cited as something that impressed scouts and for now, it seems to translate directly (still 70%). Aside from consistency, the curious thing to watch is if his game develops any further or if this current version is close to his ceiling due to his limited handles.

Is it me or did the Mavs TRADE away the guy who is this season's MVP? And who knows, maybe the finals MVP too, stranger things have happened. Mavs fans must be sickened. Traded for AD, a guy that never plays, some garbage and a FRP that could well be in the high 20s. Then they give the keys to Flagg and make him point guard (to try and make him into Luka?). Flagg has never been the primary ball handler at any level AFAIK. Kidd and the front office have to be fired soon.
Yeah Flagg at PG is horrible.

Luka made the finals the year before the trade. Will probably go down as the dumbest trade in NBA history.

It was funny the posters defending it here.

Is it the worst trade of all time? Especially when you consider Nico had to realize how bad that pick coming back could likely be.
Also that they didn't get the 2nd pick the Lakers had. Supposedly the Blazers were holding back on a Grant trade to the Lakers because we wanted two picks. Then the Mavs accept 1 pick for Luka? It's insane.

HIs contract isn't actually that big. Just one more year and about 17 million.

NOT saying I'd want him anywhere on the team (he doesn't provide them what they would need or benefit from).
Its not big compared to Allstars. But when he plays like the quality of a vet minimum player or worse... It's a big bad deal.
