the Bucks are desperate to keep Giannis from demanding a trade. And their memories of the championship 4 years ago are fading; not enough fading apparently to give up on the dream

Giannis is 31; from an outside perspective it looks like the window has closed. I guess there's different view from the Buck's FO. If they were smart they'd be shopping Giannis, at least shopping him to teams he'd approve. But they might try to hang on....foolishly, and I'd imagine those two unprotected swaps and the unprotected pick they owe Portland in 2028-2030 is part of their desperation.

it's possible. Not sure how probable it is though

right now he's be 6th for the 4 foreign born players in the West behind Jokic, SGA, Wemby, Doncic & Sengun

I'm not certain of the rules for this, but I think it has to be 16 American-born and 8 foreign born from the combined conferences. The NBA commissioner can add more players but only if the 16 + 8 requirement hasn't been met; but I'm not sure if that's actually an 8+4 format (don't think it is, but I might be wrong)

Jokic, SGA, Wemby, Doncic, Sengun....Giannis, Siakam, Embiid. The east would have to dip way down to players like Porzingis and Vucavic

while the West may have to snub Sengun (22-9-7), Avdija (26-6-6), Jamal Murray (24-5-7), Markkanen (29-7-2), Sabonis (17-12-4)

now, if it's just 8 from both conferences, then the list would probably be Jokic, SGA, Wemby, Doncic, Sengun, , Giannis, Embiid. That's 7. So I'd think it would be between Deni, Murray and Markkanen....unless I'm forgetting somebody from the EC. And of course, injuries could change things and probably will

it was a small sample size last season

there were 15 games in March and 7 games in April. The defensive numbers in the 7 games in April were great; in the 15 games in March they sucked.

of the 7 months of the season, Portland's March numbers were:

opponent points/game....2nd worst month
opponent FG%....2nd worst month
opponent 3ptFG%....2nd worst month
opponent eFG%....2nd worst month
opponent TS%....2nd worst month
opponent turnovers....3rd worst month

in the 7 games in April, the first 5 were against teams with losing records. And in one of the games, the last of the season. the Lakers rested just about everybody
