Kings have such a weird roster. On one hand you got about 12 young players who need minutes to develop and a roster clearly built to tank for their 2018 pick as they lose the one next year anyway, on the other hand they acquire Hill, Randolph and Carter, three experienced players who will want to win games because they don't have 5 years to wait before Fox, Hield and Cauley-Stein. And this season won't be that favourable for tanking teams with a lot of dross around the league. You need true dedication to finish bottom in 2018 and signing Hill and Randolph isn't that.

^ They need the vets around to keep all those youngsters from developing bad habits.

I can't believe I just said that about Randolph.

Good point. Carter in particular looks like someone they will look up to, he is probably a player the likes of Fox and Hield grew up idolising.

I was listening to the Lakers/Jazz game, when Mark Jackson said something that kind of proved my theory that he does NBA games like they're video games.

You just put soundbites together about a player, and hope it sticks.

He actually said, about Rubio, that his playoff experience was a reason why the Jazz should be very happy with him.

He's never sniffed the playoffs.
Clearly Mark was talking about his SPANISH LEAGUE playoff experience...

LMA is crediting Pop for how well he's is playing now. "It all goes to him." Now that is a TOTALLY BELIEVABLE statement that everything is all right.

They're planning for 2019 - those "vets" are signed for 2 or less years (except Hill). WITH Hill, In 2 years their salary cap will be at $55 mil which should give them about $60 mil for free agency. If they dump Hill, they'll have enough $$$ to sign 2 max free agents to go with Fox, Hield, Jackson, and Cauley-Stein.

Just watched some of the Philly-Brooklyn game. Embiid is a monster. Hope he stays healthy, because if so he's easily the best center playing today, and a top 5 player in the league. He's elite on offense AND defense. Makes everyone better around him.

Philly is going to be fun to watch.

Yes but it is Saric who I wish we had on our team. 10-14 (5-8 from 3) and 9 boards......off the bench. (although I certainly would not mind having Simmons either)

You can't steal this from me. I said Minny will be a damn good team this season...... the Sixers would lose a bunch, but be a real fun team to watch and we will finish 41-41.

I used to want Saric, but I don't think he'd work well with Nurkic. Simmons would be AWESOME.

You know who the Sixers could really use? CJ. They could start him at the 1 and play Simmons at F. Until Simmons learns to shoot just a little he's going to be a weak link (albeit an awesome one).

Sixers with a healthy Embiid (admittedly a rare phenomenon) > Timberwolves.

Why isn't KAT a better defender? He was supposed to be in college. But as Okafor shows us, there's a big difference between the NCAAs and the NBA.

Because he is a bit lazy on defence.

Embiid is a terrific player but no way does the rest of Sixers team warrant being called better than Towns' supporting cast at Twolves. Butler is the main difference maker, he is a proven star.

Simmons and Fultz have tremendous potential though. If both develop as they should and Embiid stays healthy, they MUST get to the Finals at some point.

I feel like we've been over this before... KAT was an offensive force in college. I don't recall him having much of a defensive reputation. That was his twin towers teammate (WCS).

Okafor is useless out there.
FTFY

He doesn't even think they have a use for him.

Jahlil Okafor said:
I'm unsure if I'm still on the team. Am I really a part of this process? Am I really a part of this culture? That's why the guys have been out there on social media, but I've just kind of been in the dark. I'll go to a Sixers event, smile, take pictures with the kids and stuff like that, but I’m still thinking, ‘am I a part of this team?'

Sometimes I do think it would be great to get a fresh start, be on a new team, new surroundings, new teammates. I think about that often and I think that's something that could benefit me.

KAT has never been a standout defender.

It's amazing how his stock has quickly fallen. Prior to draft in 2015 he was widely considered as first or second choice and people were surprised Russell went before him. Then he was scoring during his first season and a lot of wild trade ideas have appeared suggesting his stock was high, including fans on here discussing a trade for CJ. Before 2016 draft there were strong rumors Celtics would trade no. 3 pick for him. During last season he was already considered worth no more than a lottery protected pick. Now he is probably going to cost a second rounder at most.

I feel he could be decent if he tried more. Maybe he is going to have that extra energy to try and prove everyone wrong after he is traded which will push him to become better. I think Chicago should trade for him, they got nothing to lose anyway.
