If one hates Paul and Harden, how are they fun to watch? I thought they were horrible last night. Warriors are just worse.

Well it's possible to think someone plays nicely despite not liking their character. I can admit Manchester City play good football these days even though I hate them.

I feel for Celtics and Hayward. 5 mintues into his max deal with a new look Celtics that were really likely to go all the way in the Eastern Conference and his season is over. It's really a heartbreaker, like him or not.

With a compound double break like that his career might be over let alone the season.

Sure, but it's not possible--salaries aren't close, and Boston isn't giving up anyone who would make it work.

Gives rise to an interesting question, though. If a couple months from now, the Celtics offered to deal Hayward for Turner/Harkless, would you gamble on his ability to return from this injury?

Apparently it's a straight break without damage to ligaments and vessels which I guess is good news in bad news.

They will never do that. It'd absolutely crash their credibility in free agent market and nobody would want to go there for the next 10 years or as long as Ainge is there. Trading IT already hit their credibility hard but this would be a whole new level.

I don't even want to contemplate anyone being this cruel so I won't even consider this trade deal.

Would it though? You honestly think that if the Celtics played at a 2 seed level for the next two months, but realized they needed a little more depth, defense, and ball-handling to have a shot at challenging the Cavs and Warriors, that players wouldn't understand them dealing a recently-signed UFA with a season-ending injury for two players who fit the bill of what they need in the moment? You think players would think less of Danny Ainge for doing what he thinks it takes to pursue a title this season rather than "playing the long game"?

And yes, I know they'd never do it, but not because of "their credibility in the free agent market," but simply because Hayward's much more valuable than those two, even after suffering a season-ending injury.

Paul George bounced back great. Remember Shaun Livingston’s injury back with the Clippers? He made it fine as well..

Hayward as bad as his injury looked, it was a clean break that I have no doubt within a year he’ll recover and get back to where he was..

I hope it would. They would virtually dump someone who they recruited for months after 5 minutes because he got injured, which wasn't his fault in any way (I would maybe slightly understand it if he got injured by rushing too fast from previous knock and not telling anyone, or something). He came there to play for Celtics, turned down the club that drafted him and Miami Heat that was able to offer him the same deal with no income tax, and probably a lot of other teams that were willing to sit down to conversations with him, because he trusted Brad Stevens and Boston management to build a contending team around him, which they've actually got off to pretty well by acquiring Irving and drafting well in the last two years (IMO).

They've already dumped Thomas, Crowder and Bradley for two new shining toys after bragging about team culture. Trading either Horford or Hayward who they recruited from free agency on the promise of building a contending team would send a very wrong message to free agents and out of them two it would be by far worse to trade Hayward.

The break, sure..... but the dislocation can cause a lot of issues.

Pharaoh Brown didn't break his leg... but he dislocated his knee and he almost lost his leg because of it. There's a lot of ligaments and tendons and such that can be badly damaged in a dislocation.

Clean break and simple dislocation doesn't mean his career is over. But it does mean that he is done this year and he will have to recover. That break just like any other break will take time. He is only 27 so yeah he could be back. I read the tweets from people who hope all is well.
Word is Paul George also has lingering issues so don't say he is back completely and Livingston himself says he isn't the same player. Time will tell.
