Yeah how did that start?
One year we didn't make the playoffs, Showtime called me and asked me to work with them. Shit, there money is green too, but i had to say no because I was already booked for a huge show. I think mentioned it on here and Denny is actually the one that started killing me for it. My family is all down there, so as a kid I'd rooted for them if they weren't playing us or my Sixers......but i was never a fan. I think that and me standing up for Kobe as being one of the best to ever play is where it all started.
Guess I'm not helping my rep on here by defending the Ball kid either huh? I just have too much respect for the game to let team allegiance blind common sense.

their, not there

No, I am not. You said they were bad because Butler was not there - so far this year, this is not true.

I said before - that they were horrible defensively last year, lost their best defensive player at the most important defensive position (PG) and gained Butler which should elevate their defense in the SG position - but still, their defense is suspect.

I expect Butler to get better when he understands his new team - but I am not certain that this actually elevates them over where they were last year - when they were awful defensively. The reality is that so far this year - they were all awful - and the question is - will Butler's play elevate them all or will they bring him down? It is early - but it was not an immediate upgrade getting Butler - and as I said - I have my doubts. Rubio was by far their best defensive player last year - and he is not there anymore.

Suspect isn't better than awful? What this place wouldn't give for our back court to consistently play suspect defense, instead of their trademark awful.

The Bucks are having "Return to the Mecca" night

You got offered to work for the lakers during the holidays or something, quit bragging !

See, I know everything about you HCP

They have so many new parts, it will take more than a week to get the chemistry together. We've seen teams in the past that are loaded with talent struggle out of the gate.
I think it's entirely possible that their skillsets are what's hurting their chemistry.

Even so, each one of those three aren't as effective individually playing with the other two than if they were the only star on their team.

I don't know who 'that dude' is. I don't know Doug personally, but you definitely lost your cool with him. If you wanna take this to PMs, that's fine.
He did, but HCP is gonna HCP and won't regret anything, nor apologize when he's wrong.

I miss Doug. The dude was great and wasn't the one who escalated things. But whatever. I can enjoy the forum in spite of all the dead, beaten horses around here.

I'm sorry that's what you see. Rapping usually is a cocky thing to do anyway. But in his interviews he doesn't seem cocky at all. I watch how he interacts with his teammates and referees and I don't see what you're talking about.
You seem to be manufacturing that in your brain somehow. He's always been humble in every interview I've seen him in. Show me something cocky BESIDES rapping... You're reaching there bro..

Edit:

Even the way he interacts with opponents. Beverly basically knocked him to the ground and he got up and kept fighting and playing like it was nothing.
Cocky is his FATHER. Not him. And just like I said, you're projecting. You're projecting the image you have about his father on to him.
It's that smug cockiness. Beverly knocked him down and he didn't say shit, so what? I've seen cocky people get shut up by stuff like that.

Honestly as much as Lavar talks the guy gets a lot of shit he predicts right. Lol

It’s hilarious how accurate he becomes. Smh lol
It's pure luck. To act like this dude is some genius is silly. Remember how UCLA was going to the Final Four?

I bet Lakers miss the playoffs, and Lonzo loses twice in the same week at some point..

What's wrong with that?

Not saying you are, but I think it's funny that we can celebrate people like Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon, RASHEED WALLACE, and Dave Chappelle (yes he's Muslim) and then denigrate their religion.

It was Ali who wouldn't go to war, and Abdul-Jabbar, who has lived his life as a pacifist, that are our most celebrated Muslims. I think it's hypocritical that a country that is supposed to be accepting of freedom of religion constantly denigrates theirs.

No because 40 games would be more than enough time to see trends, claiming anything either way after 4 games is nonsense.
But if we were 0-4, you wouldn't have the same tune...

What smug cockiness? :dunno:

You are manufacturing this. Again, I've never seen it and until you prove it, it's just you saying it. And again, don't post any video of him rapping.

So you haven't proved your point. You've only proved that you don't like him for a reason that you should be attributing to his father, not him. Show me one "cocky" interview.

I guess you can't stand Nurk then either. If anyone is cocky it's him. CJ's pretty cocky. He has a whole victims unit that you LOVE but he's not being smug and cocky? Evan Turner is MUCH cockier than most NBA players. Crickets...

You're reaching, trying to find something that's not there.

Are we just assuming why @Dougnsalem is not here or are we 100% sure? Who's talked to Doug about it? Are we making things up as we go along or what? :dunno:

I literally gave you many different reasons, not just this one.

When you watch an interview of Klay Thompson, doesnt he come across as smug, yet cocky?

There's a difference between confidence and cocky, as well.

Yep. Everything I've seen of him he's been a great person (well, as much as his self-presentation shows), so to really hate him (other than being a laker) seems to be about something beyond his control, and that's just not fair.

I know I wouldn't like to be hated on just because of something out of my control. How fair is that?

He can control how he responds to his father. He could ask his dad to chill. Nahhh.

Why does the Bucks playing in their old arena have to have anything to do with Islam? When the Blazers played a game in Memorial Coliseum a few years ago, did it have anything to do with the military? Or ancient Rome? :dunno:

I am so sorry. Kobe is known as a laker. He should never be liked here.

It literally says Mecca....
