This isn't fair though. Of course if it's ONE allstar appearance vs ONE ring, it's an easy choice......How about Stockton with 12 or whatever all stars appearances and induction into the Hall of Fame or Adam Morrison's 1 ring?
I think unless you are a year in and year out MVP candidate, rings don't mean a helluva lot. Robert Horry was never in the conversation for the best player on any of the teams he played on let alone the best player in modern basketball, yet he has the most rings of any player whose career started after 1963.

If you were a player, which would you value more - a championship ring or an all-star appearance? I'd pick the championship 11 times out of 10!
Would you though... I mean would you really? Who do you think takes more pride in their playing career Charles Barkley or Kenny Smith? That's a really clear example of how wrong you are. Not only is Kenny constantly saying how much better Barkley was than he was but Barkley knows it too. Now would either Chuck or Stockton trade a few of their 10+ all star games for a ring, yeah they would but would they trade their excellence as all time great basketball players just for one championship? I think that is a resounding no. So while you are right that many might trade a single all star appearance for one ring, I think you're still wrong that a player would trade having an all star caliber career for being a scrub on a championship team.

Ring over all-star appearance, but hall-of-fame over ring. I think Goran Dragic would gladly trade his one all-star appearance for this year's championship.

I bet he would

Okay Lakers, I get it, lose game 1 and go off the rest of the series. I get it.....

Clippers are the only team that can beat the Lakers

Now Butler is hurt.. Ugh

Big Blockbuster with the Pacers. Do they do it and would you do it? I know I would.

I think this makes us a better team defensively and we don't lose a lot of offense. Obviously according to tradenba there is no projected change in wins for either team and that's usually a sign that the deal isn't too lopsided either way. In CJ and Nurk, they get a lot for Oladipo and Turner. Nurk is the better overall player than Turner and I thnk CJ is the better player than Oladipo overall. It's just a matter of fit and I think this trade would make our team more cohesive and give the Pacers a ton of value in return for the guys they send out. We do get Warren and that is a big deal but they get the value of either having Trevor next season and cap space after that or Trevor's expiring contract to trade at the deadline along with a the upgrade at both other positions. I think all of that is worth including Warren.
Yikes. We give up CJ AND Nurk and don’t end up with Sabonis? Hard pass.

Must say, if that happened, I would not feel sorry for Kawhi. He forced himself out of not one but two model franchises.
I kind of forgot about that. Think about the situation he could be in if he stayed with the Spurs.

What’s to feel sorry about? If they got rid of PG, he’d prob throw a party. PG was not who Kawhi thought he’d be.

Elephant in the room time. If the Heat get curb-stomped in this series will Butler force his way out?
No. Injury excuse. Plus, he seems to love these guys that he's playing with. They all seem to share the same mentality of WANTING to win unlike Butler's previous stints with the Sixers and T-Wolves.

Butlers a hard ass. He might be the only guy who would prefer every season was played in a bubble. He don’t give a fuck about anything but ball. And you can tell he respects his Heat teammates..I’d think twice about trading for KAT, Simmons or Embiid. Jimmy wanted out once he saw they don’t want it as bad as he does

Edit: maybe we should just draft the best player out of Marquette in the draft..Butler, D-Wade, Wes, Crowder..something about that school puts out hard mother fuckers who play above their expectations.

I forgot the NBA was going on. They have nothing interesting.

That's why they pay you the big bucks to be Global Moderator. You earned your green sergeant stripe, so sit back and take it easy.

Or be like me. I'll soon try to watch my first game since the Blazers folded.

No Bam. The Heat were already going to struggle and I didn't think they'd win the game but now it looks really bleak for them. Before everyone starts talking about the Lakers getting lucky with injuries lets just not. No player or team is ever completely healthy and the Lakers were absolutely romping Miami last game before anyone was banged up. On a different but related note we might have a Meyers sighting tonight.

Never would've guessed it
