Watching the Lakers unravel this season so far is at least making up for ours.

No, I've known KingSpeed/Eric for years now. He's supportive, knowledgeable, passionate, and just an all-around great Blazers fan. Sure, some of his takes can be over the top, but that's what fanatics do. I'll take having his enthusiasm over a certain troll and the doom and gloomers any day.

This right here.

how lame is it to call people who are glass half full fans nutjobs?

real cool man…

Most posters hate Aldo (okay hate is a strong word) but dislike him because he repeat it every day that the Blazers have to blow it up, although it’s very annoying, dude is right. RIGHT NOW or at the deadline is the time to sell everyone to get as many draft picks as possible, like OKC. Tell me one reason to still cheer for this Blazers team that is going nowhere and has been stucking in no mans land, i don't see any reason anymore. I'm absolutely done with this roster

the suns last loss was against the Blazers. Clearly, that means everything is fine.

Rockets and Blazers. Think about that

10 & 10 and you want to blow it up?

Would you support blowing the team up if they were 10-20? 10-30? The decision to revamp the roster needs to be based on what we see in the future more than on the present.
10-10 is different than 10-20 or 10-30. 41-41 is not a team you blow up. It's a team you continue to work on and find the right mix with. Lets see where they are in 10 more games? In the next 10 they play 8 at home. Road against the Jazz and Road against the Warriors. I'm real interested in what they look like at the Warriors again on Dec 8th. Do you blow this team up if they are 18-12 at 30 games? 15 of their next 20 games are at the Moda.

Hope this isn't serious. This guy is fun to watch.
I bet they'll actually improve in the short term. They have so many guards, and their defense will automatically get better without him.

BUT: if he's out for the season... maybe we can interest them in a CJ?

Depends on what the definition of blowing the team up is? If it means trading Dame, and the rest for picks as was presented, no.
This city wouldn't support a team as well without making the playoffs for 5, 10, 15 years. Suns waited 10 years, Sac hasnt in 15 years, Wolves are constantly laggards & Houston & OKC will struggle for a number of years.
If an opportunity to trade CJ & some for a young proven player, sure. We have several young players now and they are developing Naz, Ant, Norm & Larry. You want to trade Dame for a top pick? not me.

Your last sentence kind of makes my point. Having an inflated record after 40 games doesn't mean much if (when) it is followed by a 2nd half collapse.

all you are doing is matching salaries for trade purposes. They wouldnt do that trade, they have Ja & Brooks why would they want CJ?

I agree to a point but the Blazers schedule gets easier in the second half other than that double B2B with a road trip on both sides in Feb.
To this point they have had one of the toughest schedules in the league. They are due for some home cookin.

Edit- There is a spot at the end of March that goes Pistons Spurs Rockets Rockets Thunder Pelicans Spurs Spurs.
That right now looks to be a easy group of games

Hm, funny. People wanted to trade Dame after 5 games, and didn't look at the past or the future then.

No, no, you're welcome. Yes, yes I know what I said made sense.. yes, I accept your apology.

Because they don't have Ja? As it said? Also, they wouldn't have Brooks either, because he comes back to us.

...and then they realized how stupid they'd been when Kerr, who'd never even been an assistant coach, transformed a decent team, that nobody saw as a contender, into a fucking dynasty.

And Mark Jackson has never coached since.
The Warriors' announcers mentioned last night that Warriors went from a team with close to least passes per game (under Jackson) to team with most passes (Kerr), in one year. Interestingly enough, they said that Blazers have increased their passing by 20 per game this year over last.

passes/game is a raw stat. Too little context. I mean, what have the 20 extra passes yielded: an offense scoring 5 less points/100-possessions. Of course, scoring is down league-wide so that may not mean much. Portland was ranked 2nd in offense last season; 4th in offense right now. After 20 games last season, 11-9; this season, 10-10. Doesn't look like the extra passing is yielding better results

but then, Portland is now 29th in the NBA in defense, so maybe the number of passes made isn't the problem

Don’t be a nutjob fan using logic this way. You are better than this sir.
