You do understand what "categorically" means right?
Terry Stotts grew up in Indiana. Of course they called him. He was never really in consideration. My "Sauces" tell me that is because he simply was not interested.
Now let me add. You are correct. He has been offered a job. Because obviously you feel he has been and this story says he was indeed in consideration. I'm good with that.
Your original statement said "No team thought he was worth Hiring" then you post a story saying he was a front runner and considered by the Pacers. Which is probably true. He was considered because they thought he would be worth hiring. Problem is he was not interested.
Inject this in my veins
Dude????You were responding to my comment with “that is categorically false.”
False means that the statement may have some truth to it. Categorically false means there is absolutely no truth to the statement, which is why Sarver categorically denied everything that supposedly happened as owner of The Suns rather than just saying “false.” So I’m not sure YOU understand since your next statement is “Now let me add. You are correct.” Didn’t know I was making a return to fucking middle school English class with some of you. Let me make sure affect / effect isn’t mentioned above. Or their, they’re, there.
Are you on drugs at 5am? Late night?
“Is that why he was interviewing for jobs?” was what you were responding to. That is not “categorically false.” I believe he interviewed with the Magic as well, no?
As for the bold, no team thought he was worth hiring. That’s why he wasn’t offered the job. If a team thought he was worth hiring, he would’ve been offered a job. That did not happen. Being interviewed doesn’t mean you’re “worth hiring” Mr. Becky Hammon, it means you’re worth consideration. Getting beyond interviews and actually getting the job means you’re worth hiring.
Clearly no team thought he was worth hiring (as head coach). Clearly the Pacers thought Carlisle was worth hiring. Blazers Billups. Udoka Celtics. Mavs Kidd. Etc.
And, I agree Stotts is worth consideration. Just like Billups and Hammon and Ham and D’antoni. But worth hiring is figured out during the interview process which Stotts didn’t make it beyond.
Lol he wasn’t interested in the Pacers job? No, they wanted Carlisle more than they wanted Stotts that’s what happened.
Once again I’ll ask: You think given the choice of being 1 of 30 head coaches and being unemployed RIGHT NOW you think he would rather be unemployed?
Hate to break it to you, but he isn’t so great of a head coach that he can just pass up head coaching opportunities and come back “when he feels like it.”
Also, if instead of removing the rest of my message and not responding to just the “he interviewed for other jobs part” you’d see I said I don’t know if he wants to a be a head coach again EVEN if a team wanted him to be because they probably aren’t going to be the teams he would want to deal with.
Anyhow, you’ve now changed from a conversation of was Stotts interviewed to a whole bunch of stuff I already addressed. Maybe don’t cherry pick from my quote next time since most has been addressed already.
This implies no teams thought Stotts was worth hiring?except another team thought Carlisle was worth employing as a head coach and not Stotts for some odd reason
no echoes here
If Scottie Barnes doesn't end up being the best player taken in this draft... then it's a fucking amazing draft.
Where can his prognostications be found on the Web?Local Draft guru D69 had Barnes as a top-3 pick early in the season when he was projected to be a late 1st round selection. Thought he would fit great in Portland and had no issue moving CJ for a pick + assets to get him. It's early, but looks like he identified another gem very early on. The guy is uncanny.
Impressed with Mobley so far also.If Scottie Barnes doesn't end up being the best player taken in this draft... then it's a fucking amazing draft.
Kings were in that game until Gobert started gobbling everything up in the fourth quarter.
it’s not like we lost to a rebuilding team (raptors) by 40 with our new coach (Celtics).
Mr. Numbers wanna take a deep dive into all the advanced stats or since that doesn’t fit your narrative you’re not in the mood for that?
Let me rephrase: The Kings look better than I thought they’d look. It’s not always about wins and losses. The 76ers looked way better than I thought they would yesterday but proceeded to blow it in the 4th. Nets didn’t look so great and still won. Pacers lost to the Wiz without Beal. You can still learn about these teams despite the scoreboard. But once again, you’re a smart guy, and I know your a numbers guy, so why you’re choosing *now* to say “lol scoreboard” essentially is absolutely hilarious to me.
rondo will be writing a nice check to the nba for thatI don’t enough is being made of the Rondo/fan situation! Rondo put his hand a few inches from a fans face as a gun pretended to shoot this dude….a couple times. The fan slapped Rondo’s hand out of his face and then security kicked HIM out!!?? You fucking kidding me? ANd then Burke has the nerve to call out the FAN! Fuck outta’ here!

who said anything about moral victories.I'm glad I could entertain you
IMO, in the NBA there are no moral victories except in wouldacoulda land. I also think the NBA is a poor proving ground for the A > B; C > A; so, C > B equation. Blazers could easily beat the Suns. I don't think anything that happened last night or Thursday night makes Portland's loss to the King any better or worse. It's still a 0-1; not a 0-2 or a 0-0.5...that's basic 'numbers guy'
or maybe he's already scouted them and going there wouldn't change anything?
Or maybe the other GM's just wanted to go and he's like "what more can I get out of it? seeing them another time won't all the sudden change things"Your theory is that he's the 1 out of 30 GMs who had already scouted these guys and felt going to this event would change nothing. Maybe he's just that much better than all the other GMs, in a class of his own.
