Brooklyn just got themselves a quality coach right there.

3 days before Shams, but with no names. This post is only to let people know we have at least one more set of eyes on the inside againThis is second hand, but was told we were moving closer on some assistants.
Not juicy news, but there you go

Not sure why you would think that.
Because he's a subpar coach and Orlando is a safe place? That was easy, and right!
Love the Roy Rogers hire too. Quality staff forming. I know this really will piss a lot of people off but it’s good.
I dont know much about him, but saw some clippers fans responding bummed about him leaving, fwiw.so he’ll be chaunceys defensive coordinator. Cool? Looks like he’s been part of some good defensive squads, like Boston.
From what I know - he’s been around the league for a long time and had a chance to learn from a variety of coaches. He’s always thrown out as a name as a candidate for a staff and wouldn’t be if he wasn’t quality. Played in the NBA. He’s a big man - played at high level in the post and will bring that to the bigs on the roster. He will be good for Nurk if he’s here.Since I know very little about his knowledge base and accomplishments, can you fill me in on why you are high on this move?
No idea who that is, but I’ll keep an open mind.
fun to think about, but the obvious realistic acquisition given these coaching connections is Serge Ibaka.Kawhi is next.
Kawhi, PG13, Pat Bev, Batum, Rondo, Ibaka... even when not fully healthy, that roster is loaded with good defenders. I would expect them to be top 3 on talent alone.Clippers had a top 10 defense with a bunch of guys in and out of the lineup. So not bad I guess.
Kawhi and PG missed almost 30% of the season each. Beverly missed over half. Ibaka missed half. Rondo only played 18 games. Of course their personnel is good when healthy, but I think you’re discounting how hard it is to have guys in and out of the lineup all the time and still maintain defensive competency.Kawhi, PG13, Pat Bev, Batum, Rondo, Ibaka... even when not fully healthy, that roster is loaded with good defenders. Good at dapting Simmons to being a big man and making us a defensive minded roster. From what I know - he’s been around the league for a long time and had a chance to learn from a variety of coaches. Having watch the Blazers the last few seasons, I can assure you I'm aware of the impact of an unstable lineup. Though many here seemingly do not agree with you and I that our instability (and roster makeup) was a major cause for our defensive ranking.
Either way... the Clippers shoud've been a top 3 defense (if fully healthy). Being Top 10 with their injuries seems reasonable; not great or horrible. My opinion.
Don’t really agree with that. Kawhi and George are not all league defenders anymore, at least in the regular season.
Fair enough, but I think his reputation is better than his actual production on that end at this point. Doesn’t change the point that Rogers has to suddenly make this roster a top 10 defense. That’s probably not possible with the current personnel. But should not be 29th.You know Kawhi made his 7th all defensive team this year, right?
