dude...he was 3-14....3-14?

i think most guys who take 14 shots will have 10 points...thats a disgrace considering hes billed as our 2nd best player

I wouldn't trade Aldridge for Horford, They've both struggled, but I prefer Horford by a long shot.

you would have to have your head examined if you would tarde popcorn for aldridge at the moment.

the bulls prob wouldnt give us thomas back lol

I'm curious...why? I don't get to see many Hawks games. Is he a lunchpail guy? Tough D? Has he developed a jumper?

So much fucking crying going on in this thread...Aldridge is still so young, and Oden has definitely altered the way he's used to playing. Just look at last year, for example.

There's so many reasons why he's in a slump...but I'm not gonna go into cuz im lazy, and most of you are too dumb to understand it anyways.

Cmon. That's not right. Most of us are "dumb"? I'd say most of the guys here are very intelligent.

Jeez.

EVERYONE has looked fairly bad this year.

Roy is easily our best player, but many times this year he's been eaten up on the perimeter on defense and has been turning the ball over and making un-Roy like careless plays with the ball sometimes.

Oden is a rookie. Coming off a serious injury. Still learning how to play. Still getting in to shape. Sometimes he looks good. Sometimes he looks awful. And sometimes the team looks really good with him. And sometimes the team looks really awful with him.

Outlaw has almost single-handedly won games for us this year. And almost single-handedly lost games. Still makes dumb plays and forces dumb shots. Still makes ridiculous shots and outstanding plays.

Blake has been a great outside shooter this year. And has been terrible on defense. Sergio has been fairly consistent in that he's average. Frye has been everything Aldridge has been except lesser to every extent. Aldridge himself has been pretty damn bad. Although he has been forcing his low-post game so all of those who claim he's just a soft jump shooter are flamers.

Who did I forget? Pryzbilla has been exceptional. Rudy has been okay, but he hasn't been able to get to the hole off the dribble like Roy and when his shot is off he's not all that valuable in a slow-paced game. Batum has been good, for a rookie, but he doesn't start on any competitor. Diagu and Bayless get INC.

Anyone else?

Basically, we've struggled as a team. And that's to be expected, considering the amount of quality opponents we've played and the amount of road games we've played. 2 of our 5 starters are ROOKIES... and not even real ones. One hasn't played in an entire year and is just two years from high school. The other is coming from a lower-leveled Euro league and is even younger!

Yet somehow we're right at the top of our division and near the top of our conference. We're going to continue to struggle as all young, growing teams do. We might even get worse - the entire rotation will change when Webster comes back - but by the end of the year we should be very good and more importantly, our team will be another year more seasoned.

Just enjoy the pains and struggles now, because a 1 point win over a bad team playing like shit is more fun than the 15 point wins over the shitty teams we'll be experiencing in a couple of years with this team. :D

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^post of the year^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Seriously. That's the best post I've read here today. It's dead on. Totally balanced and on the money. Thank you BengalDuck.

It's so insufferable when people make a stupid claim then follow it with "sorry, it's true," as if we are all so heart broken to read your opinion. Get over yourself.

Probably the dumbest post I have ever read in my life. There are fans and teams all over the NBA hoping that KP is that stupid.

Granted LMA has struggled at times this year. I mean he hit the back board on a 8 foot baseline shot. Mentally he is in a slump. It happens. But for any GM to give up on a talent like LMA this early wouldn't just be foolish, he would be a fucking moron. And KP isn't.

I have no problem with the point being Roy is the only Blazer playing terrific consistently right now. However, Przybilla has been solid too. I think our other guys will pick it up eventually.

I agree LMA is mostly playing like crap this year. I'm not sure why but he is a good player and will snap out of it. He did play a great 2nd qtr a few games ago and which gives you a idea of how good he can be. He is a little soft but not as bad as some of the posters here think. I wouldn't trade LMA unless we got something really good back and a bag of popcorn isn't that good IMO.:tsktsk:

I'd be much more concerned if we were seeing these kinds of struggles in March and April -- we all knew (or should have known) that there were going to be some growing pains and adjustment with all of these rookies added to the rotation.

But aside from the chicken little nature of some of the posts in this thread, there is a grain of truth in that Greg and Lamarcus look very sub par at times and their consistency needs to get better before you can consider them more than just a work in progress with a lot of upside.

I think what it does is underscore that KP really does need to make a consolidation trade for a true veteran, high quality wing who can help take some of the load off Brandon on a nightly basis, which in turn would hopefully allow Greg and Lamarcus to begin flourishing.

heh... but if history is any looking glass into the future, instead he'll opt for starting 5 more :ohno: threads informing us of the "truth"

STOMP

I haven't read this thread word for word, but you have to wonder if Mo Lucas absence has anything to do with Frye and L.A production this season.

This team needs to learn how to win games without Roy.

Why?

Also, LMA, while shooting 3-14, still managed to grab 10 rebounds as a part of a 48-32 rebounding edge. The only reason the game was close was because the Kings went 9-17 from 3 pt land and the Blazers had an off-night shooting.

Yet they still DOMINATED the glass, and they still pulled out the win.

I think your over reacting like always. Its fairly obvious the Blazer offense is out of sync and that the players do not know how to get each other shots in every set. How about having some patience, and letting them play together a bit in order to figure things out.

Well if you are looking at it that way, this is true. As Greg is surely not part of our big 3 right now... But LMA is in a slump. There is more to the NBA game than scoring also. He has been playing solid D out there and has been aggressive on that side of the ball and is still scoring 15ppg on the other end and pickin' up some off. boards.

I think our "big 3" was more of a projected big 3 in the future. Roy is the only all-star level player on the court right now for sure. The others will pick it up as the season goes on, and hopefully by the end of the year we can have our big 3.

This thread shows why some fans would never make good general managers.

Ha, ha! That's exactly what I was thinking as I read through the posts. If the team steamrolls two games in a row, everyone thinks we'll beat the Lakers and be champs. If the team struggles two games in a row, everyone thinks our guys are over-rated.

Repping you as soon as I hit the submit button.

I have faith that Aldridge will get out of this slump and continue to improve. He's gotten stronger each year and will be even better next year. The thread comparing him to Zach is ridiculous and I'm a fan of Zach- eventually Aldridge should be near all-star level at both sides of the court.

The amazing part is that we're near the top in offensive efficiency, even while struggling in offensive sets.

If we start nailing offensive sets, and get better/closer/more open shots, we could be scary.

(This depends on how good Nate's offensive sets are, of course)

Did you guys read the LA slump blog today?
http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2008/11/lamarcus_aldridges_puzzling_sl.html
15 games into the season and he hasn't found his offensive scoring yet? Better get it before the All-star break.

"This is part of the development," McMillan said. "You keep working on it. It's not that you wait it out, it's not that I'm nervous, it's part of the growth of this team and these guys learning how to play. This is Year 2 of him ... learning to make decisions. But we know what he is capable of doing."

Is LA going through a sophomore jinx.
