At what point in this season does Oden stop getting a pass?

Mixum, you simply think about things differently. I look as oden as a member of a team I root for. If he is injured, be it once or the hundredth time, I will still wish him the best and root for the Blazers till he returns. I am not giving him a pass any more then I give any Blazer a pass. I just hope they all succeed.

Now, if you ask a different question that does not have to do with rooting, but value, well that changes over time. If you say, would you trade Oden for Lopez? Gasol? XXXXXX? I would evaluate Oden on a relative scale and be able to provide an answer. At the start of his career, I would not have traded Oden for anyone outside of Lebron. Now, there are dozens of players I would at least consider. If he does not come back at all this season, then I would trade him for most anyone who could help the Blazers. But, If he does not come back till FEB, then returns healthy and plays great, then his value would go right back to where it had been. Opinions change and are not simply based on a date of return, or lack of playing xbox. All that I know about Oden goes into my opinion of him and how much I think he can, and/or will, help the Blazers win. For example, the fact that he taken pics of his cock does not affect his on court abilities nor his ability to heal, so I really don't give a crap. If he were 50lbs overweight, that would affect his on court abilities, and that would influence my opinion.

But for now, I think Oden has a great chance to come back and make a big contribution to the Blazers.

sometimes I feel like Strong Sad has taken over posters in here with all the depression and doom and gloom.

I see a large number of people in this forum who have been taken over by Homestar, at least by the content of their posts. If you know what I mean.

I literally have no clue what "Homestar" is. What is it?

I had no clue either, but my computer comes with that thing called alta-vista that allowed me to search the interweb! ;)

I'm ashamed of myself. I heard about this place called 4chan, too. Good conversations there?

Papag once said that 4chan is full of viruses and haxxors. Be careful.

in answer to what my def of what a "pass" is.... its when a player keeps getting love from the fans despite clear evidence that player is either a problem, injury prone, bad in clutch moments, or a lousy player yet always has excuses made for him/her. basically its when fans make countless excuses but already know the real answer.

Cool story, bro.

.

Then you need better reading comprehension. Never, is an answer. Most fans are not going to stop showing love for any player on their team, at least as long as the player is putting in effort (in play or rehab).

Then again to reiterate for the reading impaired... never. If Loving my team is a pass, then never. AS long as someone wears The Blazers uniform I will love them and root for them. Will they always succeed? No. But I will be there through it all. Sorry this isnt "Legit"

I love Greg Oden.

Has anyone played the Strong Bad cool game for attractive people Wii Ware game? It seems like fun, but I could use those points for a game I already know and love.

i asked a question on WHEN fans would be upset if oden isnt back by....

no one will give a straight answer. not my fault.
lots of posters gave you a straight answer, you just didn't get the answer you wanted and threw another hissy fit... which, of course, is all on you

Greg stops getting a pass from me the moment he stops trying his hardest to get back on the court. Fortunately that's never been a problem for him in his career and I don't expect it to be one. He works hard.

Oden admitted a couple of weeks ago in a Quick blog that he drank too much until 7 months ago. He says that now, he's trying a lot harder to bring back his body. So he didn't do so in the past. Camby says he has never seen Oden around since Camby came to the team.

Mixum, your question is imprecise, making it hard for people to answer. I suggest a question like this next time you start a thread:

If you were the team owner and it were your money, what is the maximum you would pay Oden in his next contract, if his health remains the same (playing 1/3 of the games)?

Notice that I stated a level of injury, so the answerer doesn't have to guess at that variable.

does embedding not work anymore?

Fixed it for you.

Wait, no, I meant that literally. Meme backfire!

You can edit your own post to see what I did to make the video embed. It's a complicated formula, takes some math and at least a passing familiarity with non-co-linear temporal philosophy.

Oden came in in pretty good shape last year after hard workouts all summer(including the USA camp), and he was playing very well before going down to injury. I'd say his hard work paid off.

Oden really is a tough looking dude. The Oregonian uses pictures with a gap toothed smile, or similar. They popularize him as a kid. Interesting to see him unsmiling.
