Babbitt sent to the Idaho Stampede

I'm watching. Funny seeing Babbitt in there with Jackson because people compared Babbitt to Jackson. Jackson looks like he has trouble walking. Walker is in too.

Babbitt leads his team with 9, but his team is down 8. Antoine Walker makes a scoop shot showing his 3-time all-star experience.

Seth Tarver from Jesuit High and Oregon State in, Babbitt out with 3 fouls. 3rd foul was going for a rebound.

You became a moderator? I missed it! Apparently the new guys just added today (Babbitt and Walker) are alternating with the guys already on the team. Babbitt sits down with 3 fouls. This game is on radio in Idaho. I'm surprised at the coverage for the D-League.

Did the commentator just say they changed the goaltending rule? He said you can knock it out of the cylinder now. Is the NBA testing that out in the D-League?

I'm a moderator of the Tennessee Titans forum, which has no activity at all. Yeah I never knew they covered D-league games like this.

I'm getting a beautiful picture (far better than atdhe) but it keeps freezing on me. So I got off the board a few minutes to help. Halftime now, we're 7 down. Antoine shot an airball on one of his free throws at the end there.

I seem to remember that Stern compromised with Europe and said this league would use their rule on the cylinder this year. It was in respect for them replacing the trapezoid with the rectangle for the painted area.

Maybe my computer can do only one activity at a time. I hope Antoine plays one year in the NBA. That would get him out of debt, the one million he owes the casinos.

It's looked great for me.

I also hope Walker plays another year or two in the NBA. He may just be doing it cause he has no other options, but he's played in Puerto Rico and now Boise... that's dedication.

Maybe Walker has to show the judge he's trying to earn a living. I think he almost went to jail. They still have debtors prisons for casinos, but not for credit cards (3 year statute of limitations).

The "new guy" platoon is back in. They say when Walker was introduced to the crowd, he scowled. Probably at the tiny size of the crowd and how they sat on their hands. These people look like Idahoans. Babbitt misses a shot due to excitment. Luke Jackson gets an assist to Babbitt under the basket. Then Babbitt buries a long one, has 14 points. This platoon is coming together, but is still behind. Another pass inside from Jackson to Babbitt, cannot finish. Jackson is trying to be a point forward. Time out. The "previous guys" platoon will probably be in now.

They say Luke Jackson joined the team a week ago and slashed and attacked. He has become passive they say. The female ref is picking on Jackson for his 3rd trivial foul tonight, the announcer says. I see him trying to set up everyone else. He has to sit down. Now we're down only 3. Randy Livingston is on the Dakota team. Chris Johnson is very tall for Dakota and blocks passes. We get more active with Jackson out. He's an old-fashioned deliberate, thinking player like Hornacek or Schrempf. Tries to be intelligent but it slows down play. Some coaches would like him.

Technical on Antoine from the female ref. This tall slim guy Cooper drove and Walker tried to take the charge. He slapped the floor after he got the foul, so a technical. We are 2 down. Jackson shoots an airball. I don't see one good outside shooter on either team. Babbitt has his niche carved out for him. He may lead this league in 3-pointers. We are 1 down.

Wheeler of the Stampede, a tall guy, makes about an 18-footer, because he found himself wide open. They left him open because they figured the tall guy couldn't make it. I guess these guys can shoot if the defense forgets them. The defense is active and physical, not like college. That was the only outside shot I've seen made, so the defense plays it pretty thick inside. 3 minutes left, down 3.

These guys are pretty slow, like Luke Jackson...Jackson makes a 12 foot turnaround!! Jackson crashes the board, misses, and makes both FTs!! We take the lead for the first time since very early, a couple of points up with about 45 seconds left. Wheeler blocks the Dakota shot! Salime Stoudamire the biggest cheerleader on the bench, they say. Antoine dribbles it up the court. Someone misses, Tarver the rebound. Randy Livingston is the Stampede coach, not a player. I see. This will be their first win of the season.

6 seconds left, we're up 1, they have to foul Jackson. For a forward he sure handles the ball all the time. He made both FTs, up 3. This isn't the NBA, they can't come back, we got it won. 5.4 seconds. Wow, that was closer than I expected. Cooper shot a 3-point, in and out shot, and Johnson rebounded and almost sank it from 8 feet. We win by 3. They don't count the shot attempt, just the rebound.

I just felt like writing a diary for this game! Weird, I know. Thanks for helping, Vanilla.

Has NOTHING to do with dedication....... that motherfucker is BROKE!!!!!!!!!!

Armon Johnson, on buddy Luke Babbitt going to the D-League: "I'm already missing him, man. I missed him when we came in this morning."

Well, Armon, you might be seeing him sooner than you think. Idaho is nice this time of year...
