Other than Yi Jianlian, the Nets are back in the gym this week, working out “voluntarily” in East Rutherford and talking about predictions that they’re going to one of the league’s worst teams. Speaking for the team, Bobby Simmons said simply, “Everybody’s going to be surprised … It’s not necessarily just names on the paper. You’ve got to learn how to play together,” And he noted they’ve already started. Camp invitees Julius Hodge and Brian Hamilton were also on hand.

this is good to hear. granted, it's just august, but the fact that the current players on the roster are playing together is a good sign. too bad Yi can't be there, but that's for obvious reasons. the rookies we have now may have been the hardest working rookies we've had- they all went to the big man camp, and played in 2 summer leagues, and are already practicing with the team.

ya this is great news... everybody is excited and lookin forward for the upcoming season... it seems they wana get a headstart on workin on chemistry... and BROTHERHOOD!!! like the addidas comercial ^^ ...

hehe well im happy everybody is there except yi... but we know why he isnt there..

and everybody is takin it as a challenge to prove everybody wrong... i like that ^^ lets go nets

I hope that Carter is 100%, because then the Nets will have a decent season. Maybe even the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Quick line from Simmons on the rookies: “Ryan (Anderson) is playing well, CDR’s (Chris Douglas-Roberts) playing well, and Brook (Lopez) is doing what he does. They did well in summer league. Working out with them is one thing, having an opportunity to get up and down with them is another. They’re adjusting well.”

That's some good news. Good to hear.

Oh, and update (sorta) on Boonie's elbow:

Josh Boone said that hyperextended right elbow he suffered at the Newell camp "is fine." We'll talk to him (and Devin Harris) tomorrow - he was busy getting his camp together today.
Good to hear, hopefully he's not BSing.

Summer league heroes and training camp hopefuls such as Julius Hodge and Brian Hamilton are also using this week to show that they belong on an NBA roster this season.
Where did Brian Hamilton come from? I don't remember ever hearing about him.

Brian Hamilton was on our Orlando roster, and he really didn't do anything to impress me.

Good, all the better for Julius Erving Hodge.

I swear, it's like it was meant to be.
