Politics Bad signs for the Republican Party

Yes, brilliant strategy to campaign against a senator who voted for repeal to get that ONE VOTE. This is the kind of savvy that informs your opinions.

You'll be railing against the tyranny of progressivism in no time, don't worry. With your goldfish political attention span, Republicans have always had control of government and always will. The unfortunate reality for you, though, is that once big "progressive" programs like Obamacare actually start to help people, they become quite popular. In the past few years, as all of Obamacare has been implemented, public opinion has turned sharply in favor of universal health care.

You know that "one vote" you keep insisting means "Buh bye" to Obamacare? The bill that they came one vote short on wasn't even close to a full repeal of Obamacare, and it wasn't a bill even most Republicans wanted to enact. They just wanted to pass a bill so they could move to committee with the House, so they could work out a real bill that wouldn't be political suicide. Full repeal is a pipe dream, even if Republicans got another vote. The most they'll do is remove the individual mandate and repeal some taxes on top earners--assuming they can even get the votes for that. They'll never dismantle the whole thing.

Flake caused weeks of delays in even getting it to a vote.

It's 7 years and ObamaCare hasn't actually started to help people, outside of the insurance companies.

The vote would have ended ObamaCare. What to replace it with would be what they'd tackle next.

The proof is in the pudding, though. The people saw 8 years of Progressivism preached from the highest post in the land. They voted Trump in.

Let me repeat that for you. They voted Trump in. Over a 3rd Obama term that was Hiliar's promise.

One more time. They listened to your pitch and voted Trump in.

He has no funding for his wall and he'll have to raise the debt ceiling next month....he is all bluster and has not presented any detailed plans to fund his bluster...point in fact...he's asking for support for things which are not planned out in detail, like his health reform, infrastructure, funding of the wall, etc...he wants to continue a war against too many factors in our country.....diplomacy exists for a reason and he lacks that reason. Trump seems to most to be poll driven and twitter obsessed.....you call it genius...I call it foolish. Get back to me in January as to his first year accomplishments....he's failing across the board..even failing to rally his own party for support. I don't see him getting the votes or giving me a tax break at all

So you admit he does have an agenda.

Be afraid. If he manages to get peace in the middle east (Israel, etc.), he might go down as one of the greats. For that alone.

If is the word of the day here.....and Trump getting peace in the middle east is about as far from an accurate projection as one could have...ask any Palestinian

Yeah, hahahahahahahaha.

https://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/t...ent-meets-palestinian-president-abbas-n763401

Speaking after their meeting in the West Bank, Abbas said he was ready to be Trump's partner in trying to reach a deal that would establish a Palestinian state on lands Israel captured half a century ago.

Standing next to Trump, Abbas said the Palestinians "are committed to working with you to reach a historic peace deal between us and Israel."

Israel begs to differ.....demonstrable if you check out their history

You said to ask any palestinian. I quoted the leader of the palestinians.

Can you say, "my bad?"

meaning....we want your money! the Palestinians are happy Trump boosted Saudi Arabian armed forces.....Israel ...not so much and to your surprise....leaders lobbying for funding don't always represent the people they rule.....you think Palestinians will trust Israelis because of Trump's envoy?

Maybe you should look at who Abbas is. He's PLO.

This from a guy who thinks Trump will be a great president.....I'm also not impressed...lost credibility

I think he COULD be a great president. So far, it's been half train wreck, half positive. Or thereabouts.

"Half train wreck, half okay" is a hell of a rallying cry from his biggest cheerleader on this forum and also seems like a firm foundation for future greatness.

I think he COULD be a great president.

What qualities do you see in him that would lead to this greatness? Or are you just saying any human could be a great president, depending on chance?

See Jimmy Carter and Arafat.....Arafat also promised peace with Israel....for the photo op and the funding

The same old dog and pony show has been happening forever. But somehow Trump is going to get it done! (I don't know how anyone could say that with a straight face.)

And then fires only the best people a few months later in order to replace them with new only the best people.

Or replaces them with no one at all. And no one is better than the person he fired, so having the positions vacant is really optimal even though the people he fired were the best.

LOL

Another one of your moronic posts.

What he's accomplished is mixed. That makes me a cheerleader? I see myself posting the truth in the face of a massive propaganda campaign.

The things that haven't worked in the past are being addressed in a different way. The idiocy of repeating the same strategy that is a proven failure is what he ran on. If he gets his 3%+ GDP growth, decreases the trade deficits, and does something like brokering peace between the Palestinians and Israel, he'd certainly be up there with the last two really good presidents: Clinton and Reagan.

If his methods in accomplishing those things are chaotic, but the results are there, we're all going to be happy even if idiots will try to dismiss it.

Plus we need to drain the swamp. Not surprising the swamp is fighting back.

No, it's your cheerleading that makes you a cheerleader. His mixed (to be absurdly generous) record is what makes it so funny that you are a cheerleader.

I cheered Obama on, when it was appropriate, too.

When you talk about the Russia bullshit, I call it bullshit and somehow I'm a cheerleader?

I get a chuckle out of your posts when you try to be serious.
