So, we took out a cashier's check at one of our banks, and deposited in another separate bank of ours. We wanted it to post today, but the receiving bank won't do it because of all the check fraud. It'll be a multiple day hold. Crazy.

Yes, we've now setup the ability to transfer funds via phone apps. Should've done it that way all along, I guess. That's what they want you to do, anyway.

That said, we just heard that Bank of America is opening a new "virtual" branch in a nearby neighborhood. It will be void of bank employees and you enter it via your debit card.

Customer service is going away. I go to the local grocery store and there are 20 self-serve checkouts and 1 or 2 human checkouts. They've now made it quicker to get out of the stores by checking out myself. Now, there's a new computerized grocery cart coming from Whole Foods. Yay.

Bank employees suck.

I welcome everything app and web based.

No doubt, I get that. Just kinda sad in some ways to see humans get replaced by machines. Inevitable, though.

It's funny when people say the higher minimum wage is going to cause this when it's clear it is happening anyways.
Has always seemed to me there should be some sort of tax on the sort of automation that takes jobs away from the economy

Anyone here ever have to read “Player Piano” by Kurt Vonnegut when you were in high school? I read it 50 years ago and it painted a bleak, if overwrought (in my adolescent mind) view of over-automation. But all these years later I think ol’ Kurt had it pegged way ahead of the curve. Basically we’re stripping our shelf worth away one layer at a time.......

There's no advantage to having some minimum wage flunky bank teller taking their sweet ass time to get shit done son.

KILL OR BE KILLED.

Exactly the kinds of things Andrew Yang campaigned on. It is inevitable. Time to raise minimum wage and start something like UBI. If things continue as they are, places like Amazon won't have as many people buying their shit because they can't.

That's ok, Amazon shoppers can easily be replaced by machines. In fact if you read the reviews on Amazon, it appears they already have been.

Your wife looks hot, if just a little stiffen up.

My wife ain't white.

Funny shit... she used to always be, "I'm white by marriage."

Funnier shit.... now I be, "I'm a POC by marriage and kids." Especially with buying a place in Hawaii. We're going with her heritage over mine.

Funny (TIC) how that shit works. We're better off financially there with me being white for primary financing but we'll be treated better socially based on her skin.

Some bullshit.... but I've learned a lot in life from it all. That much I can say and appreciate.

THIS IS YOU IF YOU GO ANYWHERE IN HAWAII WITH LESS THAN 3 STARS ON YELP.

Hawaii is like a more pristine Vietnam to me. Definitely on my list of retirement destination.

My wife and I (and I assume our kids) would fit in almost like a local there. We're both fairly dark skin (I'm darker) and with American Asian features.

Not worried about getting beaten up by the locals there, FAMS!

6'5", 245-255. Ain't worried about getting beaten up by locals, brah. Actually looking to forward to some mellow shit.

You're a heavyweight. I'm light heavyweight.

I got boys from my fighting days over there, too. No one is touching me there. :bgrin:

A few of my best friends are Hawaiian out here in Mac. We have a solid population of Hawaiians out here in Oregon wine country. Two of my best buds just moved backed to the islands (sadly), which has been influential and path-paving for us. They're all familiar with what we're doing, and between my wife's background and my size, I'm not worried. We're not going too deep where they don't recognize white folk, anyhow.

Not.

Swayed.

dude, a 5'3" native hawaiian in slippers will kick all of our asses. If you see a two tone Chevy Astrovan pull up, get the fuck outta there!

I've worked at a grocery store. I'm glad machines are freeing people of that miserable existence.

I spent eight years (16-24) in the grocery business. Was in management most of those years. Some of the best times of my life. One regret, though: I never learned how to snow ski because, while my friends were all up on Hood, I was busy working. Nonetheless, that's still a bucket list item for me.

I can fix anybody's banking problems...just pm me your debit and credit card numbers along social security number, date of birth and copy of your Photo ID with your signature attached..It will take me a few days but I'll get right back to you!

We go to the bank often and transfer money to some of our relatives from time to time. Never any problem always happens right away. We bank mostly with Bank of America.

We never have a problem. But we deal mostly with people we know well and if it involves a large amount of money, we deal with the branch manager whom we know.
All bank employees are very nice to us, but then we are polite people.

I see that you guys haven't made it to baller status yet. Ballers don't deal with bank tellers, we deal with bank owners!
Shit, your Billions are probably greater than my Billions. How about buying me a cup of Java?

SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE JUST LONELY AND LIKE TALKING TO BANK TELLERS :Sly:
