He's going to be 22 in about a week and he's putting up a sub-8 PER as a rookie.
Has he done some nice things? Absolutely. Has he been one of the least efficient players in the NBA so far? Yes.
He's not a good shooter and he doesn't seem to do any one thing particularly well. I guess I just don't see much to get excited about.

No offense but it is statements like this that make me cringe every time I read "PER". Why would we put any credence in any rookie's PER the first part of his rookie season? It tells us about as much as his PER did tonight. (Which had to be pretty good while shooting 5-10 from the field, 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks in 24 minutes)
Granted he looked horrible his first few games (which is pretty common for rookies) but he has looked pretty good the last few. Odds are he will be very inconsistent the whole year. Like all rookies including the rookie of the year.
But I would throw out his PER if you are trying to evaluate him.
