It's an interesting lineup playing Holiday-Booker-Steph together. Not sure I like it
 
Without question in this type of venue with these rules and these refs Jokic>Embiid.

The USA needs to win this year because in 4 years it will be even tougher.
It will be a much different USA team too. All these old stars will be gone.

Yeah but in four years team USA will have Scoot and the newly crowned MVP Clingan.
 
Even when they came out today and Serbia went on that early run, you could tell that these Team USA players had a different level of intensity than in those exhibition games. Well as the game has played out we've seen that if our team wants it... they're getting it. This game isn't competitive and I don't think there are a lot better opposing rosters in this field than Serbia.
 
So exactly how does this work out for Serbia? They got put in the same pool as the US? If they win out from here can they still make the medal rounds?
 
They're tired while we have depth to stay fresh. 19 up so I turned it off.

Booker has been a big zero in these games, while Durant is the star today. The Suns are less balanced than most people think. Booker is at best another Mitch Richmond, but I don't think so.

I am not the biggest Booker fan but he was 4-5 from deep with 5 assists.

Today? Well then he's invisible to me. Maybe if the play-by-play guy covered the game, and Wade stopped pontificating about what greatness is all about, I could track the individual players. Did he do that in the last 10 minutes (garbage time), when I stopped watching because they were up 19 for a long time, or did he do that earlier when the game was close?

Kind of think that is by design. Tatum will be asked to play big minutes eventually.
Remember this is a tournament. Rest days are going to be needed at times.

I alluded to this earlier but they started 3 guards, (Booker, Curry, and Holiday)
And they still played White and Edwards. (Haliburton did not play.

That extra guard in the lineup, plus the addition of KD, is hurting Tatum's minutes.
I would imagine that in some games they will start Tatum instead of Booker at SF. (I would keep bringing KD off the bench)
 
Tatum was playing like crap in the warmup games. That's why he got benched. Coach Kerr wants to win the gold medal, he's not obligated to maximize NBA contract obligations.

Team USA hit the afterburners, and beat a tough Serbia team by 20. While the media is always fishing for drama, questioning rotation choices after a solid victory is skipping practical application.

If the media is slinging mudballs at Team USA after a big win... by golly gee USA better not lose a game, or else sports broadcasters have barrels of Hellfire & cinder ready to pour.
