That's a pretty crazy stat:

So apparently Nic should be starting at power forward :rotfl:

Eh. Hasnt resulted in wins... albeit, that's not all Nico's fault, either.

That is pretty impressive. Batum should get a lot of props for that work.

Blocked Shots in the 4th Quarter NBA season leaders-
1. Robin Lopez 43
2. Anthony Davis 32
3. Taj Gibson 32
4. Serge Ibaka 30

Wait. I thought Nic was inconsistent, lackadaisical, and lazy?

He'll be kicked off the team now for sure. You know what we did with Hickson.

Well, doing it for one month really only plays into the hands of the people who call him inconsistent, lackadaisical and lazy. If he can do it for one month, why can't he do it for a whole season?

Because his role changed when LaMarcus got hurt?

yeah, before he probably had the best assist numbers for a SF in the league and was I believe 2nd in triple doubles. what a hack eh?

Doesn't change the fact that a lot of people are annoyed when he shows that he can do stuff like this, but really only when he wants to.

This is the opposite of rewarding excellence. Let's pick on his sick days or maybe his fractured finger...Nico is special and probably gets dissed more than any player on the team. He's a huge part of our winning record this season. People get annoyed sometimes just because they like being annoyed.

It doesn't change the fact that people are annoyed by stupid shit based on illogical interpretation of facts.

I don't think they're being illogical. He has the talent to be one of the best players in the league. He just doesn't seem to have the drive to be that good. I have accepted him for what he is. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what Batum could be. I just appreciate what he gives us. Some people are unable to do that though.

Batum can't move in on Aldridge's territory because everyone kisses Aldridge's ass. He won't play C or conventional PF, and all teammates must mold their games around that unmovable fact.

It just proves rebounding is all about effort and being a bit of a stat compiler (having the effort to go after every single rebound, even when it isn't contested and your teammate could easily get it)

Aldridge was doing the same thing earlier in the season when he was averaging 12 rebounds in December and 13 rebounds in January. In Feb/Mar he's back down to his <10reb per game average

That's right. If he's doing it now, why wasn't he leading the league in rebounding all season? Or last year? Unless Nicolas Batum continues to lead the lead in rebounding from now on, he's an inconsistent unmotivated slacker.

Look. Batum has shown he can lead the league in rebounding. He has shown he can lead the league in assists. Lately he has shown he can score more than 20 points a game. Clearly he should do all three, every game, while keeping his turnovers below two a game. Anything less is unacceptable. Have you seen his contract? He just doesn't care, I tell ya. I say we dump his lazy lackadaisical ass. He's holding us back.

That's a healthy attitude. It would be like blaming a guy with an insane drive to be good, who lacks the physical talents, for not living up to his desire to be good. It's a package deal. The mental with the physical.

I disagree btw that Batum 'doesn't care' or doesn't have the drive or whatever. I think he busts his ass to do what he can for the team, for his teammates, and for the win. Everyone has bad games. Everyone gets sick or hurt and it affects their performance. Everyone has good days and bad days, and most humans have confidence issues from time to time. Batum gets an unfair rap around here IMO.

Just bumping this because... well you know why. It deserves to be highlighted.

Quod erat demonstrandum.

Let's trade him for an honest toiler who can't do this when he wants to.

Yes, he's basically lucked his way into being an NBA player, in spite of his laziness. :MARIS61:

Batum is more aggressive without LA on the court and that is a fact. Now we need to figure out how to sustain this effort with LA on the court.
