The Erie BayHawks have acquired returning guard Cory Higgins.
Higgins (6-5, 180, Colorado) was recently released from his contract with the Charlotte Bobcats. Originally drafted by the BayHawks in the first round (7th overall) in the 2011 NBA Development League Draft, Higgins appeared in five games for Erie before receiving an NBA call up. He participated in 38 games for Charlotte last season, averaging 3.9 points per game in 11.1 minutes. This season, as a member of the Bobcats, Higgins saw action in six games, averaging 2.3 points per game.
Higgins fills the roster spot vacated by Keith Benson, who has left the team.
Higgins is expected to join the BayHawks in time for tonight's game in Idaho. The team will return home on Friday, January 25 to face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
