Bayless or Roy?

Not fair. Bayless was buried on the bench, only getting spot minutes. Not his fault AT ALL. Roy was handed the starting spot. You have to compare when they started and were given the green light. The San Antonio game was the first time Bayless was ever given that.

Not fair? Really? You mean sorta like asking the question of whether or not a single game trumps a rookie of the year award, two all-star appearances, an all-nba second team award, and having to carry the weight of a franchise on your shoulders with all of the defensive attention focused on shutting you down.

Kudos to Bayless for stepping up and producing when his number was called, but consistency is king in the NBA -- ANYBODY can have a great game once in awhile, and even though Bayless has had a couple he's got a loooong way to go.

So yeah, talk to me about "fair" again.

Explain. Is it just because Roy has played more games and is more experienced? But what about how Bayless will be if he gets the same amount of games and the same amount of experience? I suppose I'm talking about ceilings in this case.

Just curious....

Explain? Roy has proven in every facet of the game that he's better than Bayless so far. He is a top 15 player in the NBA today easily. I don't deal with hypothetical scenarios dealing if Player A gets certain amount of playing time that he will dominate more so than Player B.

If Bayless has a higher ceiling than Roy then I hope to god for this team that he achieves it.

Hehe.

He's now seen what happens when teams with a lot of length and a shot blocker can do to a young penetrating guard. Terrible night shooting, but I like how he got people involved after starting the night 0-6 and managed to go 2-4 down the stretch.

Man...remember those 2+ games where it was Bayless > Roy?!?

Its now back to Roy > Bayless because of this game

...thats nice

Good think Brandon saved his job with an out-of-the-blue performance tonight. He better watch his back, though.

But but Brandon started and Bayless didn't. That's not FAIR!

Bayless' great games are what Roy puts up every night when healthy.

Come on, man!

ROY > Bayless

Roy has 3 more years of competitive basketball IQ since he finished college with teammates.

To OP: A stupid question that doesn't deserve an answer...

I'll say it again, the ability to hit outside shots opens up Bayless' game and more importantly gives him confidence...he played good...just wish he could show that more consistently....

and that Batum could.....

and that Rudy could.....

etc....

Right now I think the guard rotation is solidifying very well, and they are showing signs of growing. It is going to take a while folks. While Bayless has problems with his outside shot, I dont see anything so badly broken with it that it cannot be adjusted by practice. I still believe he will end up a lot like Billups. Billups took 5 years to really hit his stride, and started showing signs his 3rd year.

Rudy has been playing well lately too. He will never be a physical player, but still gets under folks skin with the way he plays.

He's 4/6 on threes over his last 4 games. Not much of a streak, but it's by far the best four game stretch of three point shooting he's had in his career.

His teammates were definitely looking for him to take those threes, so maybe they saw something in practice in the couple of days since the last game. *shrug*

He does a lot better when he isn't hurrying things. That is what happens with young players. They get in a hurry to get stuff done. Playing time will iron that out, as the more he plays, the more the game will slow down for him.

Thread title indicates brain rot has seeped into this forum - Roy by a galaxy (or 2).

Like asking who's better, LeBron or Martell? :dunno:

That's a great question. Who is better? LeBron or Martell? LeBron certainly has the better stats and PER and intangibles, but Martell is pound for pound the better athlete. LeBron will win more MVPs, sure, but Martell will win more rings.

even when bayless has a "good" game he ends up with 4 TO's and still can't run the point if he's not scoring.

Bayless and Martel are better decoys.
