Trade Bazemore being traded to SAC

Spurs are fighting for the playoffs and Aldridge has been very important for them since he started taking threes again. No way they make that move.

That’s one pointless future for a franchise. I just don’t understand why they don’t rebuild around Murry and gut that team. Is old ass LMA and Derozan really going to get you by Lebron and AD? Or Kahwi and PG? Weird direction that team is going

I’d do that. LMA would be a great vet fit for a team like us next year when Nurk and Collins are back healthy. He can be the first big off the bench to rotate for Nurk and Collins while Skal is your other insurance.

I’d just hope LMA is up for that role
I’d have no problem running with LA as full time starter till he retires, and having Collins get big bench minutes because he can relieve both Nurk and LA.

Solid trade. Things I like about it:
1.) Wenyen Gabriel
2.) Trevor Ariza's contract
- He can be traded on draft day or before June 30th
- If he isn't, he can be waived
3.) Cap savings
4.) $7.2M Traded Player Exception
5.) Ariza is better than Bazemore

Things I don't like:
1.) Giving up Two 2nd Round Picks
2.) Possibly missing out on something better that we could've used Bazemore for

Second round picks are like Pokémon cards; they aren’t worth much and you can always buy more.

I thought this season couldn't get worse and then we get Caleb back :pokecrap::smiley-neznam::smiley-nope:

What a fucking win for the Kings.
They sent a an undrafted dude which they got for free and a washed up player and got 2 draft picks in return, PLUS they got rid of Swanigan who is probably the worst NBA player of the decade.

Huh?

Who cares if Swanigan is the 15th man on the roster. How is that even relevant...

I just can't stand to see him in a Blazers uniform, seriously.
I rather have Tolliver, i rather have anybody but him.

Where in the name of the Red Sea is Moses Brown?

How dare you? That statement of mine is original and witty...even if not entirely true. ;)
Yeah, sorry! I have a 7 year old who is obsessed with Pokemon so I know all about the cards.

Trade isn’t official until Tuesday....time for a third team to enter this deal; Lakers?

Lakers acquire Ariza and Portland winds up with Kuzma!

You know Houston wants Ariza back. Maybe we can fleece them!

I wonder if Buddy Heald would give up his #24 jersey to Kent

Ariza is a cowardly POS with no particular skills applicable to the game of basketball.

He will never be accepted by the fans, and probably not by the players. Probably the most hated active player.

2 solid players and 2 picks for Caleb.

Bye Bye Neil.

2nd round picks
Twardzick
Gross
Kersey
Cliff
Johnny Davis
TR Dunn
Colter
Ha
Dante
Barton
Audie Norris

3rd round picks

Larry Steele
Lloyd Neal
Drazen

Worst part of deal no one is talking about is that it kills any chance to sign a decent player in free agency... the cap room we would have had letting Bazemore and Whiteside walk has been greatly diminished... this was worse then losing both players for nothing IMO
We didn't have a chance at signing a starter that would improve us in free agency.

Ariza is shooting just a bit over 37% on catch and shoot threes this season. Looking at his recent seasons he seems to hover between 36-40%. If he can translate that to Portland, and I don’t see why he wouldn’t as he’s going to get good looks, he will help.

Another thing I noticed, in the 8 games he’s gotten over 30 minutes this season, he’s shooting 48% (41% from three) which also falls in line with his career splits. He’s at his best when he’s playing 30+ minutes. And he might be older, but he’s averaged 30+ minutes as recently as last season, when he played 34 minutes a night. Would expect something similar in Portland.

Does anyone think Houston would swap Tucker for Ariza?

That swap would cut the tax to almost nil.

Apparently Houston can make that trade since they are in the tax

They will never do that. Tucker covers for so many of their fuck ups and bad shots.
