Trade Bazemore?

Little side-track. Normally I'd hold this type of post back, but it's getting silly...

What's with the die-hard Olshey and Stotts supporters (not all of you) being more volatile then the people who they claim "can't accept others opinions"? It's mostly one guy in here but it's not just him in general.

"Eat crow"
"Apologize to Neil"
"You need to give props to Neil/Stotts"
"Grow up"
"Man up"

And then those that use these phrases complain about that type of posting from others the minute they get the chance to... Nobody has a problem with people being supportive of Neil, even if they disagree. I'll probably tell you I disagree, possibly question your objectivity in regard to the topic, but it's all in the framework of discussion and debate. It's about the topic at hand, not what you need to do, say, or any sort of personal attack. If I said things along these lines, y'all would definitely call me out on it.

I see these phrases used by the same people who self-righteously reprimand others for less, complaining about the constant "battles" that take place on this forum. If you don't want people saying things along the lines of "Grow up, apologize to me because you need to eat crow because Stotts sucks", then don't say these things!

Thing is, I don't care if you say these things. I'll respond in kind, and won't hold a grudge, or take is seriously or personally. What I really don't understand is how the same people that say these types of things will complain about others who use the same phrases back to them. They immediately go into defensive mode and somehow others "can't accept other opinions" even though they're saying these things to those who have different opinions.

It's so unnecessary. Either don't use these phrases and complain when anyone and everyone uses them, or don't complain when others use them back.

Thank you!

I've always hoped that you would be the one to do that; instead of getting involved in disputes with the guys who are criticizing him.
I genuinely dont have problems with @CupWizier but I do find it odd when people criticize the team then he comes at the poster, or says he’s a “fan”, which usually implies he believes people criticizing them arent fans. Why not just provide his take on why he thinks those guys deserve “praise”, or why the criticism is wrong. Just saying he’s a fan, or he’s annoyed that people are being critical doesnt add much to the conversation either.

I get it, a few of us can be way more critical than we need to be at times, Im as guilty as anyone, but Ive definitely been frustrated when I feel like I am presenting criticism that isn't far fetched and the response seems to be, well Im just not a fan and he’s a better fan then me or whatever.

Again I dont have any beef with cup, on this forum he’s more than allowed to have his opinion, and discuss it and if he thinks Im a bad fan or not one at all even though Im on a Blazer fan site everyday, thats fine, he can have it, but it makes it hard to have conversations at times, because rather than discuss my criticism, I have to prove my fandom in order to have a valid opinion.

When Harkless plays well he is very effective.
Needs to be more consistent yes but I’m not sure they should get rid of him unless it’s a solid upgrade.
Here’s my problems with Harkless and again its my opinion feel free to disagree. Average shooter for starters, seems to only try when he starts. His aggressiveness is way too off and on. Basically he’s like Mr. Unreliable, but shows flashes every 10 games where you’re like oh thats why he’s playing. He could be a very solid 7th man type but his personality seems to not allow that and as a starter he’s just not good consistently enough. I think its some what exaggerated when he and Aminu play together because their pretty similar in being inconsistent, and way too often both are off.

Wouldnt mind at all if Harkless accepted the role of giving solid energy whenever he’s on the court and playing a mostly bench role probably would still get 20ish minutes a night, he just hasnt seemed to be able to lock in to that.

Personally right now I think we're going to see a significant shift really soon roster wise and it's a moot point to evaluate how we stack up because we don't have the team set yet. I'd guess there are still guys we've got on the trading block.

I'd be actually surprised if Harkless or Leonard are on the team next season.

They could very well be at the beginning of the season, but i see no way they are both on this team next June
I think Olshey will act quickly to find value before other teams fail to sign bigger targets and go to cheaper options....I think he's on a mission to win now...he said he's going to fill the roster with trades so....I expect trades. Mo and Meyers are the only expiring deals we have left on the roster...that tells me they're outta here

Pretty much. Olshey mentioned most of their moves will come via trade and those two are the most obvious candidates to get dealt.

My annoyment is the constant same old "criticisms" done by the same people and almost on a daily basis i could probably pull out almost identical posts from over a year ago that are still being posted. It makes this forum very stale. I had a friend read through some posts awhile back and he asked me why so many posters dislike the Blazers.

Hark may well go, but I will be amazed if Leonard isn't around. (and if he shows anything while Nurk is out, I expect his next contract to be even worse than this one)

I think they move him and offer more money to keep Kanter or save money and get an Ed Davis..let Skal take Meyers towel..and Meyers gained more value than ET or Mo last season in short sample size....his 3pt shooting is going to attract some offensively challenged team like the Pistons or Grizzlies

Trading Mo for a bench pt guard...and Meyers for a PF would be cool.....or trade them both for a Paul Milsap or Kevin Love type

Isn’t that what Stotts implied at the press conference? Sounds like he and Neil have a bunch more moves planned.

For the first time I’m thinking Chief and Harkless may be gone.

Yeah I’m like 90% sure Aminu is gone and I’m greater than 50% that at least one of Moe and Meyers is as well.

I think Chief and Jake will be let go if they get offers but re-signed if we need them and they don't get big deals...I don't think they'll be priorities until we have to decide....we offered Jake the qualifying offer but Mo is going to get traded I'd bet.....

Jake must be resigned. But I'm afraid he will be placed behind Bazemore and now ... Little.

Jake played the 4 much more as the season went on....Stotts played him with ET or Mo at the SF......Jake needs to improve on paint defense and help defense to play the 4 but if he can start hitting the corner 3...he can slash and finish at the rim better than Chief...decent rebounder ..early in the season he played great at SF when Mo was hurt....given minutes, Jake could provide some production ….if he's in and out for long stretches, he probably won't make those strides...I love his game when he's on

If someone can't have a decent conversation with you @TorturedBlazerFan , then that's on them.

You make a concentrated effort to have a discussion with every poster.

eat crow! enjoy the ride! I'm celebrating! the thing about battles bones...which I also have no interest in is that first you have to engage an enemy to have a battle....or just not engage them...my tactic is to just not have enemies...and a little homer gloating over some demonstrable results is to be expected after years of doubt and snark about the Blazers....I'm having fun with it...don't be such a snowflake
Thanks for giving me a good example. You complain about these types of comments all the time, yet you make them yourself. You complain about these comments all the time, and then when I question that, I'm the snowflake. You make comments like these, but complain about there being too much drama on this forum.

So I assume you liked me defending Olshey yesterday. You saw that, right?

I think he can play the 3- 4 as well. (Definitely not SG-that was a failed experiment IMO) A lot of teams have smaller perimeter players at PF. We have the bigger options with Zach and Skal, but we also need someone like Jake for certain match ups.

You shouldn’t take this place so serious. Take your mind off all those stat things you talk about. Might be good for you, take that argumentative edge off. Give you a fresh perspective. This place really isn’t THAT important. You don’t have to always have the last word or “win” the argument. Get out and get some fresh air like TPFKATHCP......just watched the sun go down here in San Diego.

To be fair to Cup, weve had good convo’s and good back and forth’s, I dont really have any thing there other than I feel like at times its hard to continue a conversation when I feel like I need to validate if Im a fan or not because I criticized the Blazers.

I absolutely understand why us cranky, hyper critical folks can be frustrating to him and other posters, and maybe a few of us could lay off at times, but still, when theres really not a counter to whatever subject that was brought up, just kind of a, “Im a fan” response (Which I personally almost always perceive that response to mean, “Im a fan and you aren't”), I find that makes it very hard to talk about and discuss basketball, or Neil or Stotts or whatever. Anyways I should apologize for making two long posts about a poster. This thread is about Bazemore.

Already excited to see if Bazemore helps the offense.

I've been critical of our team in the past and I've received similar remarks as you. A person's posting history generally brings out a person's intent. Make no mistake about it, you are a fan. To me it's pretty simple.

I'm excited to see the offensive possibilities with Bazemore and other guys. However, I have my reservations defensively. I will wait to see how that bears out this season.

That's good advice for anyone. Enjoy the good things while you can. Especially with those you love.

Yessir. My daughter is down here playing in the Elite Club Soccer National Championships with her squad. They are ranked #5 in the country. Very pumped. Don’t get to see her play on the road very often. Her league games are in Colorado, Arizona, California....all over the west. But it’s usually during Blazer season, so I miss ‘em. So I said screw it. Cashed in some SkyMiles and shot down here til Monday. She doesn’t even know I’m here. Was going to give this place a break, but It’s like a bad car crash. Same old people arguing. Sounds cheesy, but this place is not important enough to get so angry about shit. I don’t care what people say, it used to not be like this. People take this stuff so serious now. Busy telling everybody how WRONG or STUPID their opinions are. Leave the basement and go enjoy the day.

Congrats to your daughter and happy birthday.
