Beaver "Nation" in trouble

I feel bad for them, economic times are hurting them too.

Do you enjoy being a jackass?

News like this should make Duck fans further appreciate Mr. Knight and the rest of the big dollar donors they have.

I always love how Beaver fans use this as some sort of slight against the university and the sports program. You do realize that those donors all got their higher education at the University of Oregon and attribute some amount of their financial success to the school?

Maybe OSU should abandon the Sheep Milking major and try to improve the quality of their graduates? Then they could have some big dollar donors, too.

Once again, do you enjoy being a jackass?
I in no way intended to slight the U of O. Having those donors is great for the school and the sports programs. Any OSU fan would be lying if they said that they wouldnt want the same quality of donors as the Ducks have. But the fact is that we dont, probably never will, and we have to live with it. Do more with less is all we can hope for.

If you call yourself "Beaver Nation" you should be able to maintain a decent level of support for a glorified high school stadium.

I see no problem with them being called that. Blazer fans still tried to call it Rip City etc even when the RG was only 75% full... so just for me I see no reason to kick a program while they are down.. big deal if its less than 1300 STH's who arent renewing.. I wish that would happen at Autzen.. that way I wouldnt have to overpay for the games I can go to each year dammit.

Those liberal-arts degrees are really coming in handy!!

If only OSU had more poetry and sociology majors, maybe they could get more donations.

Do you really need to ask that question of him? The answer has been pretty obvious for the past two years on BBB and here.

I really hate duck fans.

And it's really sad. I was a huge duck fan before I went to OSU. But duck fans are definitely one of a kind (in a BAD way). Not all of them are like this, but the majority of them I have met are.

I'm a beaver fan for life now.

I got something in the mail yesterday offering me season tickets for like $200 bucks too as a former student. Thinking about actually getting them.

thats a pretty sweet deal actually.. if I was a Beaver fan/former alumni I'd be all over that.

It is pretty liberal.

But I think it sounds better as a hot chick school :ghoti:

lol cant say I've ever stepped foot on campus there.. so I'll have to take your word for it.. or at least you could post some pictures :devilwink:

Definitely not. OSU is engineering oriented. UO is liberal-arts, work at fast-food joints, hippie oriented.

De Carolis is clearly not creative enough, and obviously not driven enough, to handle a job he is being paid a ridiculous amount of money to perform.

His head on a platter should be the first step to any workable solution.

Man, and there are times when I think I'm a cock. Dude, U of O is a middling state university. Let me know when you understand what real money is.

Well, I think Knight would qualify as a top tier donor, money-wise, at any school. Don't know if there are any other donors of note at U of O.

You forgot the [/sarcasm] tags on that post.

Either that, or clearly you haven't lived in or been around the state of Oregon for very long. What De Carolis has done with the athletic program in the last 10 years is very impressive.
