Maybe they thought they were cops?![]()
Students actually waited in line for tickets? What a bunch of morons. You could literally walk up to the ticket booth five minutes before kickoff and get tickets to Reser. To my knowledge, they only sold that thing out once since the expansion, and that was for the Civil War last year when 1/3 of the stadium was Duck fans.
Hell, they couldn't even sell the stadium out for a nationally televised ESPN game against #1 USC last year.

I've watched every OSU game on TV this year and I've been very disappointed in the lack of support for the Beavs. I see the top corners of the stadium empty, and it is pathetic.
If I were living up in Oregon, I would be at those games and those OSU alumni that are in Oregon should be ashamed of themselves. With the run OSU has put together over the last 8-10 years, we should be able to sellout 45k seats every game, and at the very least, every Pac-10 game.
Oregon St. is 2nd in the Pac-10 in terms of avg. % capacity of stadium filled. So, not too worried, especially in this economy.
But thanks for sharing, Soda. Some day you'll admit you're really an OSU fan.
interesting. not arguing with your facts.. I would just be interested to see that list looking at all schools.
If you go look at ncaa.org you can see all attendance figures broken down by a variety of factors, including average as a % of capacity.
Yes, Oregon is #1.
Training them beavs for their future?

aren't you a regular in just about every Duck thread?Soda always so obsessed with Beaver news. Never seen someone get so riled up by another school/fanbase/team without them trying at all - it's like this one Laker fan on Niketalk. Pretty hilarious.
I still don't understand why they expanded that thing when they can't even sell it out.
Second smallest stadium in the conference, 60ish miles from Portland, respectful run of success the last 10 years. Should be a recipe for constant sellouts.

ticket availability may have more to do with the opponent this week. The Sun Devils aren't very sexy or cool at 4-5 and they're going with a freshman QB making his first start.I do agree, it should be sold out for every game. But you have to keep in mind that the Beavs arent the "sexy" team to root for. The majority of local Duck fans are bandwagon fans who only root for the Ducks because they are the "sexy/cool" team to root for... they have zero affiliation with the university. In fact, this week at work, due to the Stanford loss, I have received many more blanket emails from Ducks fans looking to sell their tix to this weekends game.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree and I don't know what you're basing that on. Are SOME fans bandwagon fans? Certainly. Hell I even know a few who I'd consider bandwagon Duck fans. But "majority" is not even close to being true. I'd say that 90% of the Duck fans I've met either went there and/or have close friends/relatives who went there (or are currently going there). The majority of local Duck fans are bandwagon fans who only root for the Ducks because they are the "sexy/cool" team to root for... they have zero affiliation with the university.
apples and orangesI didnt receive any emails from people selling their tix the week before the WSU game. We all know that WSU is much worse than ASU.

what fraction of a single percentage point do you figure those people you're siting make up of the overall Duck fanbase?Based on my friends, family, and co-workers (tons of sports fans at my work). I'd say that 80% of them root for the Ducks, 10% root for the Beavs, and 10% dont care or root for other teams. Of that 80% that are Duck fans, only about 15% of them attended U of O or have family who graduated from there.
