I tried. Really. But roaring to 15 point or more lead only to see 30 point swing? It reminds me of cat playing with mouse. Blazers being mouse.
A #2 seed is heavily favored and losing the series wouldn't demoralize me had it been, say, a couple of hard fought games. Or if Spurs had just killed Blazers start to finish I would wince but acknowledge clearly they are greatly better team.
How many times can I feel hope and then get my heart shredded?
Forget public statements. In their hearts do the players think they can pull it off?

If I’m a Blazer player I feel like my confidence is shot. Hard to imagine they even believe. That’s ok. They accomplished a lot this year. They beat the Suns in a highly entertaining play in game. They had moments against a superior Spurs team. If they somehow win game 5 I will invest more belief. At this point though I am resigned to the inevitable. Some of the flaws in the team are very apparent and fixable. This team needs reliable shooting, more players who can create their own shot, and coaching that emphasizes rebounding and boxing out and makes adjustments. Dame might help with some of that. I enjoyed being in the playoffs again.
