Who do the Knicks have that fit the Sixers and their need to win now?

In the end Philly’s GM is gonna want a stockpile of picks. Toss in Kemba Walker with 3 first round picks and 3 second round picks and it becomes a haul for Philly. Come trade deadline, now Philly has much more to offer to acquire Dame or Beal…

I don't know what red writing means but I overstated. Enes is a very flawed specialist that could start at times but not consistently and was being compared to an all nba player... that's still about as bad of a comparison as can be made.
I was agreeing with you by sarcastically disagreeing with you.

I don't know if Randle is as good of a fit as CJ but if they could get him they probably would. I don't think the Knicks would do it after the season Randle just had. That would also be moving Harris back to SF defensively where he struggles due to lateral mobility issues. I still think CJ is the better option for the Sixers but Randle is a win now player.

Morey needs to lay off the crack pipe. He's NEVER getting Dame. Ever.

I guess if people think that Morey is going to kick the can and hope for Beal or Dame at the trade deadline then a bunch of weird trades could happen. I just think they'll make the move that makes sense to win from the first day of the season but I definitely could be wrong.

I will say that if the Knicks were interested in Randle for Simmons, I'd rather have Randle in Portland. A CJ/Randle/Simmons 3-way would be fantastic.

You can't compare Enes Kanter to a three time all star, two time all defensive team and one time all nba third team guy who is 25... it's just the weakest comparison. Kanter is always living on the edge of a guy who is unplayable or a specialist role player... he's been that his entire career.

I see everybody missed the point.

By saying we should ignore the Atlanta series for Simmons we are holding him to a LOWER standard than a bench guy. How does that make sense?

There's no doubt in my mind that he will be a Warrior. They will probably deal Green in the process and all young assets and picks they can manage. Green would immediately add to the sixers. Heild has never played a minute of playoffs, Green is a multi ring guy.

Fans were lamenting Kanter's defensive deficiencies all season. And snickering at Zeller as our backup C says more about the scoffer than it does about his ability to ably fill that role.

"Shrug"

I have already been perfectly open in my belief we should have kept Kanter. Mock away - we'll see who is correct.

did you just trade dame for randle and simmons? Hows that work?

I lean this way as well. Getting a decent backup center for when Embidd is out or resting seems attractive. Green replaces most of what they lose on D.
And as I have said in other threads, Simmons fits in with the Warrior's running offense.

Sacramento has the pieces to offer but my guess is Rich Paul will keep that from happening.

I'm not sure Morey has time to wait. Embiid's knee is a serious question mark. He had luck on his side last year with 2 situations that looked like ACL tears, and ended up being strains. He's almost too big for the type of moves he likes to do. His body just doesn't seem to be able to take the stress.

Only a matter of time before his knee collapses like a black hole

I predict Simmons will stay until around the deadline THEN be traded to the Kings BUT I think Portland will be involved in this trade not sure for who but NeO has history doing a few deals with the Kings so IF a 2nd team is needed PDX might be a prime candidate to help out.

Take whatever this dude says with a grain of salt (again, he's the one who made the Cali and "socialite" comments). This is a pretty emphatic walk back and he hardly acknowledges his mistake.

It’s amazing that they didn’t win when they had Simmons/Butler/Harris/Embiid.

They were not that far away. Eliminated from the eventual champions with a lucky buzzer beater. But that's the issue. Everyone forgets that the next second so you are loser.

Of course this season they messed up really badly, but that season they had what it takes i think. But shit happens

Whether or not we should have kept Kanter (I agree we should have--he'd be a good tradeable contract) and whether or not Zeller is a snicker-worthy replacement are two completely different issues.

Except we're not, because we already knew prior to the playoffs that Kanter's deficiencies would prohibit him from being a worthwhile playoff contributor, and his performance simply confirmed what had been predetermined. Simmons' one playoff series was a shocking anomaly, which is why it stood out so significantly. It is not inconsistent to put more value on an event that is in keeping with expectations and past performances than on those that diverge sharply from the same.

Yeah: Jimmy Butler.

I don't think Jimmy wanted to stay there

Dame got wrecked by NOP and looked god awful, but that one slides? I personally give people a bad series here or there. CJ has only had one GOOD series, whereas Simmons has only had one BAD series.

Everyone understood your point we just thought it was a bad comparison and a reach to boot.

That's a tough one for me but I land on the same side. Randle's floor is a lot higher obviously. The thing about Simmons is that he has real superstar potential and that is so hard to come by but he could just be Draymond Green with no shot but more athletic... which is not as good as Randle. So, I would make the safe play and bring Randle on.
