What's the most you would give up for Ben Simmons?

Simmons wants to play the Magic Johnson role, which requires having the ball in his hands. Well, that’s Lillard’s job. I could see Lillard playing off the ball more often but in the end, it’s his team and he will want the ball the majority of the time. That would force Simmons to play a role he isn’t used to.

He couldn't say one word to make me want him. I've seen him play since he was a HS Senior...

I JUST SAID I've watched him play since he was a Senior in HS. He has NEVER been able to shoot. He never even TAKES shots...

He does NOT shoot because he's afraid of the consequences. He's afraid to drive and be fouled because of the consequences.

All this came to a head in the PLAYOFF SERIES WHERE HE AVERAGED LESS THAN 10 PTS...

They lost to the fucking Hawks... Why does that not matter to y'all?? STOP acting like this doesn't matter! It does.

If CJ averaged 9 pts in a playoff series, y'all would hate him even more and be calling for his head.

It’s really too bad that scoring is the only thing that matters in basketball. Sorry Ben, scoring is the only thing that matters in basketball. We have no use for you.

Don't say things that aren't smart and don't apply to me. I'm a basketball coach...
I coach Defense 1st and that everything starts there. I'M the one in here always talking about there are 2 sides of the ball.

That said, I'm not trading a 23PPG scorer for someone who is reluctant to shoot.

Now can we be done? Like I'm really tired of you assuming dumb shit and telling me what I value. You're making yourself look bad...

Exactly right and the haters like to throw out aspersions against people who disagree with them and have no real substance to their criticisms other than shooting, which is real, but also the most correctable skill in the game. The other phantasm they like to point to is attitude. Sure it has some merit, but this guy isn't Ron Artest, or Qyntel Woods ready to drop us into a Jail Blazers era. He's a guy who really shouldn't be the first banana who has some growing up to do. Attitude can definitely be adjusted. Especially when you go from a top 5 worst teammate in the league (Embiid who's Twitter handle is literally "Troel") who has a terrible attitude, just a winning one, and a coach who threw him under the bus publicly in one of the worst singling out of a player that I can recall. I really don't understand how so many seem AOK with the equivalent of Dame Lillard and Stotts publicly humiliating CJ and then blaming CJ for getting upset. A few folks just have their silly petty narratives (perhaps to drive drama for their own reasons) and are missing the forest for the trees. PDX is not Philadelphia, our fans aren't the same, Billups isn't Stotts, and Lillard is the best goddamn leader in sports, not a supremely talented Ass-Clown like Embiid. I'd much rather deal with Simmons's attitude than a guy who throws his teammates under the bus and takes delight in trolling the whole league.

Another Fallacy. CJ has always been a willing defender. He has also been a defender who was coached by someone who sucks at coaching D

See, the difference is that I can see why some people don't want him. I understand it. Hell, in some ways I agree with it, but I also see some reasons why we should take the chance. I have explained those reasons. If you have made up your mind, so be it, but at least recognize some of the reasons that people have for wanting him as being valid.
