Yeah, I'm sure Morey told this guy...

most assuredly he didn't. But it gives us something slightly different to talk about

I have no clue about the rumor’s source just that it is n theory a good offer

Really? You can't visualize a guy crouching in Morey's closet wearing nothing but a halloween mask and carrying a machete and a CostCo sized jar of honey?

No,no....me neither. Forget I mentioned it.

That Moron offered up Simmons for CJ plus 3 + 3 is at least a starting point. Of course it is a ridiculous starting point and that price will come down, but it puts both Simmons and CJ in the same deal with no other players and fits cap wise.

CJ + 1st + 2 swaps and I'm in.
Give them the 3 & 3. Nets and Bucks gave up all their picks. Clippers gave up all their picks. All 3 are going farther in playoffs than us. Get it done, Neil.

I would like a CJ for Simmons trade and we can add Blevins :breakdance: and then agree to 1st pick swaps for three years.

In truth, I believe we will NEVER win with a backcourt of Dame & CJ, so we gotta do what it takes; CJ and 2 first round picks and 2 first round swaps. Good enough for me - let’s TRY pairing Dame with another Allstar and see if we can compete for a title

Dame / Powell / Simmons / RoCo / Nurk

and hurry up and get something done to get a vet backup Center and a vet PG. THEN we might have a shot.

As things stand - we only frustrate Dame and we’ll be another 42-win team :drumroll:

With THAT starting lineup, we win 50 games for sure. Maybe we could trade for Boston’s backup center? Would make our team even better!

Look I would move CJ for Simmons because I think Ben with Dame and two other shooters would work well. But this would NOT be my lineup:
Dame / Powell / Simmons / RoCo / Nurk

I get that our D has been bad the last few years, so you are all looking for the best defensive lineup, but both RoCo and Simmons are one-dimensional
on offense. If you think a starting backcourt of Dame and CJ can never win a championship, neither would a forward combo of Simmons and RoCo.
You would need a forward who can spread the floor. We would be better off starting Snell. (Or hope Little is the real deal) But Roco and Ben is not the right
starting combination.

RoCo/Ben went to second round together in Ben’s rookie year. Also- Ben is hardly one dimensional. He can do many things well on offense.

Agreed he can do many things on offense, but outside shooting is not one of them. As for RoCo, it could very well have been Stotts, but I saw nothing from him on offense that suggests he does anything but shoot 3's and he is steaky when doing that. How often did he successfully attack the basket?

Look I like both of those players, but if we got Simmons for CJ, (and I doubt we will) then surround him with 3 really good scorers. Out of all the players last year including the guys we traded......RoCo had the 14th best shooting percentage on the team at 40%, yet he was 38% from deep. That is pretty one-dimensional to me. Again I like him but he needs to shooter better this year regardless if we get Simmons or not.

Anyone will go instead of CJ will be downgrade in scoring. But Powell answer some of your concern, imo. After Aldridge era it was only Dame and CJ that we're sure options in offense. It is not like Ben wouldn't add nothing to offense and we still have to wait if Billups can dig something out from Nurk.
Powell can score. His handling is not as good as CJ's, but hey, who tf can beat CJ in handling. But Powell can go under the rim and CJ not so much.
All in all, it is a bit of concern to lose your second scoring option, but I would risk it to bring more balance, especially with Billups here

sounds then like RoCo isn’t the right fit here - I concur. Trade CJ + RoCo + Little + 2 number 1 picks for Simmons and Harris:

Dame / Powell / Simmons / Harris / Nurkic

I do not think it's not like Ben wouldn't add nothing.

If you want to win you have to gamble. How many experts were sure harden would be a disaster on the nets? All of em. Brooklyn took the risk and it paid off brilliantly.

I think Neil should keep trying to meet Morey half way. I just don’t think the addition of Chauncey is enough to make this team a threat. The biggest loss of all is losing Dame if this team can’t really compete.

Has it yet, though?

Believe me, I'm fully on board with the swing-for-the-fences mentality, but absent actual playoff accomplishments, I think it's a bit premature to declare that particular move a rousing success.

Really? I was under the impression Harden wanted to go to NJ and play with KD.
