If you want to win you have to gamble. How many experts were sure harden would be a disaster on the nets? All of em. Brooklyn took the risk and it paid off brilliantly.

I think Neil should keep trying to meet Morey half way. I just don’t think the addition of Chauncey is enough to make this team a threat. The biggest loss of all is losing Dame if this team can’t really compete.

Possibly.

If the team can't compete they need to lose Dame for the most value back they can. So I don't think any moves need to be done for fear of Dame opinion.

I was told by MANY how much of an upgrade Zeller is over Kanter. I was just saying it’s sad that we’ll never really know. He’ll miss half the season with injuries.

In two seasons 95 games out of 154. An average of 1/3rd of the season missed in two seasons.

I don’t know about brilliantly. It was a good trade IMO but they only won 1 playoff series.

Anyone will go instead of CJ will be downgrade in scoring. But Powell answer some of your concern, imo. After Aldridge era it was only Dame and CJ that we're sure options in offense. It is not like Ben wouldn't add nothing to offense and we still have to wait if Billups can dig something out from Nurk.
Powell can score. His handling is not as good as CJ's, but hey, who tf can beat CJ in handling. But Powell can go under the rim and CJ not so much.
All in all, it is a bit of concern to lose your second scoring option, but I would risk it to bring more balance, especially with Billups here

Powell does not really answer my concerns because I already had factored his scoring in. Again I am not saying don't trade for Ben, all I was saying is I don't like the starting lineups that people were throwing out there if we did happen to land him. IMO you always need 3 really good outside shooters on the floor in today's NBA. And I don't really want to rely on Nurk being one of our 3 just because he went 2-4 the last game from deep. Although the more I think about it I guess that lineup would be ok to start, but I doubt we could end games with it if we were behind. But maybe RoCo surprises me and becomes more consistent from deep. It is possible.

RoCo had some really really good months. I think in a better offense he would be very effective.

People were saying he was an upgrade defensively. defense was the teams weakest point.
Ya, but Kanter helped out ALOT on the offensive end that is really being dismissed by a lot on here.

disagree. people appreciated his offense, but his defense made him unplayable too often. Same reason why Ed Davis is/was unplayable at the end of ball games.

I'm tired of dropping knowledge upper cuts on yo ass son!
WE WILL MISS MELO AND KANTER'S OFFENSE. SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT ANY OTHER ASPECT OF THIER GAME.....NAS AND ZELLER WILL NOT......I REPEAT NOT MAKE US A BETTER TEAM!
So enddith the lesson.

You do realize that Melo was a net negative for the team, right? That means the team was worse off with him *ON THE COURT* than off.

Oh you guys and all your metrics and numbers.

You have to factor in what the replacements did last season to make the deduction( Just looked that word up) that we will be better without them.

Well, if one team scores 103 points and the other scores 109, those are numbers. And you can measure the impact a player has on the outcome of the game...so, yeah. By using the standards that people judge a players worth and whether or not a team won or lost is "metrics and numbers".

Bringing it to you like a modern day Perry Mason bro! You're the dude on the left!

There's an old guy who holds the Guinness Book of Records record for number of FTs without a miss. He does it the old underhand, two-handed way. This is like saying "we'll miss that guy's free-throws". Yeah, in theory, but... you can't really play him because of the being-an-old-guy thing.

the team last year WITHOUT HIM was better than WITH HIM. His biggest, and most noticeable negative impact on the game he (and kanter) had was on the defensive end.

Defense wins championships.

So I'm going to give you this LAST chance..... YES or NO......Zeller and Nas will be better for us than Melo and Kanter?

I know you have NO street cred to be concerned about losing, but I'm just trying to give you one last chance to back out.

What was Nas and Zeller?

Nassir, in his inconsistent minutes and role, had worse #'s. But that had more to do with his lack of experience instead of 18 years of playing that way.

This is what we call, "LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR EXCUSES".
