good, he deserves all the hate he can get, hes a scumbag for declining to show up at the training camp and saying he wont play for phila anymore

fuck him, he brough it on himself

Where did some rolling eyes video legend come from? Not sure Ive ever posted one? If I did it was a one off thing.

The two things I get passionate about are Olshey being a bad GM and people who have a warped sense of Simmons who is a former All-NBA, multiple time all-star, and second place in DPOY voting last year, somehow being a “bunt single” and/or a terrible player. Those kind of comments are absolutely worthy of an eyeroll.

That said, I’m curious how this legend came about.

He's a bunt single. Thats today's reality. You're welcome for the free fact.

I’m not sure why PHI even wants Simmons to show up at this point. It’s not like he’s going to play so well that his trade value is going to go back up to what it was two years ago. Everyone knows his playoff issues won’t magically go away, and everyone knows he’s got a pouty ego.

c'mon man. It isn't a one way street. His coach threw him under the bus; the franchise player threw him under the bus; and Philly fans trashed him unmercifully and threw him under the bus. Then they backed the bus up over his body and ran over him again and again. And all of that happened BEFORE he said he wasn't going to report. The team blamed him for the loss to Atlanta; and the fans blamed him for the loss, and they treated him like shit

the team offered him no cover at all. They offered him no loyalty because it was convenient to make him the scapegoat. Simmons is returning the same loyalty to Philly that Philly showed him

sure, he could have probably handled it a little better, but again, his team, and the city, made that almost impossible

Imagine Dame and Stotts doing this to CJ for his equally catastrophic blunder of stepping out of bounds. Then the fans burning his jersey. Oh right we can’t, because that would never happen here. Why, because we aren't a toxic city and franchise with a low-class Superstar like Embiid.

he never even tried to shoot in games and it hurts their team, not just when it comes to scoring, but spacing the floor too, so naturally phila fans were angry and obviously there will be criticism (which is okay) and insults (which is not okay, but it is what it is, we all get insulted at some point), just man the fuck up and move forward and try to improve your game

sure, doc rivers and embiid didnt help at all, but you have to understand them, especially embiid, guy did everything in his power to win, but it wasnt enough, cause he need help and simmons doesnt help as much as he should... i have no symphaty for him and like i said, he brought it on himself by not trying to improve his shot and acting like a scumbag

meyers leonard was booed at moda center and was criticized a lot by our fans

i dont know if he got insulted in the arena, but he was insulted on social media for sure and no-one is gonna burn his jersey, cause no-one has his jersey lol

but who gives a fuck about meyers leonard, ben simmons was considered a franchise player by some, joel embiid by others and hes getting paid $177 mil and is not playing up to his contract

Right. The classy way to do it is to get fat and pout, like Nurkic did in Denver?

The Sixers have been trying to trade him for a while and both his coach and franchise star threw him under the bus because they did not build a system suited for his strength. The team is as responsible as he is, imho.

Has anyone seen him lately? How do we know he didn't hire Charles Barkley as his personal trainer and has blown up to 300 pounds?

there is no problem in him wanting out, but there is every problem in him not willing to play for his team anymore and being punished for it wont help the team

i fully understand that he doesnt want to stay there anymore, but he should ask for a trade and play until they trade him and if they dont want to trade him, then he should do whatever it takes to force the trade

fans are shiffty, improve your game and everyone will love you again, thats how it works

There are enough videos of him working out with other NBA players. He is not going the Harden way.

Fuck that shit. the Sixers proved they do not care for him. If he can afford to get a hit, after the way they threw him under the bus - he can look for himself first. Respect needs to go both ways. I have no problem with a player thinking of himself first if the team did the same.

Yep... and that's what he's doing.

Fair point, I think there is a big difference still between a total bust top 10 pick who is out of the league as we speak and a Star with a glaring hole in his otherwise stellar game.

so if youre phila gm or owner, you would just let him go for anything

theyre waiting for a good trade and simmons should be patient and theres difference between unwillingness to trade him and waiting for a right trade

so if dame asked out and phila offered simmons for him, whould you deal him at the very first offer or would you wait to see if theres better return from phila or some other team

Based on the only trade proposals we've heard, Morey is high on his own supply. Also, if Dame wanted out everyone would be gracious all around. Apples to Oranges comparison. Sure they should try for a good offer and that offer is CJ plus a young guy plus a pick. If they aren't willing to do that, well they are morons. If Olshey isn't willing to do that, he should be fired post haste.

yeah, but theyre trying to win the chip and ben simmons is liability on that team, which sounds crazy given his athleticism, defense, playmaking & rebounding, hes an all-star, but that one thing hes missing is costing the team a lot

maybe it wouldnt ba such a problem if they had a legit #2, but they dont and hes being paid like a superstar, while not playing like one... as ruthless as phila fans are, i do understand them & i would do the same

No freaking way do you take the first offer for Dame. But if his game went in the tank and he became resentful and wanted to leave you get the best deal you can and move forward. The thing with Simmons and Dame both they both have 4 years left on their contracts and that give the teams leverage.
Dame wasn't thrown under the bus by players or coach and he would handle it under the cuff so both team and he could get want they want or close to it.
I still think Simmons shows up come start of season with an understanding that by trade deadline he's a goner for a deal isnt so bad for Philly and Ben.
Or you fire Rivers and bring in someone that Ben likes.

knowing ben simmons, theres no going back, hes simply a snowflake, a real one would man up, go back and improve his game and won everyone back, thats what real ones do, they rise up to the challenge

sadly for phila, they have no leverage in this despite ben simmons being locked long term, they can punish him, but that wont help the team at all and other players in the nba are closely following the situation im sure and if they treat ben simmons poorly, it will ruin their image and thats not good at all, as players wouldnt want to go there... personally, i think phila will fold, but time will tell

I would be more excited if someone ie Klutch were to leak that Ben likes Portland. Afaik he wants the glitter of California

So you've burned McCollum Jersey's and gone ape on him regularly on Twitter etc? Cause if not then you clearly would not do that. McCollum is ALSO grossly overpaid and his lack of defense plus mental mistakes (eg stepping out of bounds on a critical game 5 possession when Lillard was playing out of his mind) is actually even worse than Simmons. As is proven by all playoff stats.

Again, this has been debunked innumerable times. It's a false story traced to a Bay Area guy at the height of GSW's attempt to get Simmons. It's utterly false. At least as many pundits have said their sources say Simmons would play anywhere.
