You did awesome! I included you because if I don't sometimes people will accuse me of playing favorites for not mentioning all in involved.

Understood, and that's all well and good, Sly.

But IMO, if ONE individual continues to incite things I think they alone should be the one who is cited, and not the one who capitulated and bowed out of the convo.

Just my view.

I see..

Nah, it's all about politics with his ilk. These are just a few of the exchanges. He takes on Trump on many other levels (in this exact thread) in between this exchange. You can read those for yourself. He's a Trump hater...and hates those who support him. Period.

ABM: Is it me, or has the price-gouging began? Hand sanitizer is in high demand. I've been told that many brick 'n mortars are out. I was curious and checked Amazon. Seems to me these are inflated prices. Ahh, well. Supply vs. demand.

yankee: "Supply" should have been addressed WEEKS ago.

ABM: Amazon still has plenty. Order up!

yankee: My God, does the simplest of concepts/points always escape you?

ABM: Never. You're just dense enough to escape the humor.

yankee: Nothing "dense" about me scooter. You have a nasty habit of saying inane things and when questioned, you simply claim you were only kidding. Again, your Fuhrer and Pence have screwed the pooch on coronavirus preparedness.

ABM: Right

ABM: I've determined I need a personalized green font just for you. Working on that.

yankee: Ahhh, so you learned everything you need to know in kindergarten?...That would explain a lot.

Yes, these are exactly some of the posts I was referring to. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm just asking you guys to ease up.

I thought it was because of your bad haircut. I know it bothers me.

Actually, if you want to boil it down to one stance/issue/value, etc......it's because I'm highly pro-life. In fact, it may eventually become the premier issue of the entire Presidential campaign. We shall see.

I can handle it.

I get your point.

I've had the great privilege to drink many a beer with ABM. He's a hell of a guy and I know a bit about how hard he worked to get to the happy place his life is at now. You also seem like a great guy and I'd enjoy drinking a few with you too. I get the feeling if you both tried you two would have more in common and come to like each other.

Wait, you're pro-life?!? I never knew that. <<- insert green font there

...you buying? :bgrin:

For the record, I don't "hate" anyone, especially people I've never met.

A little back and forth is fine but you guys have derailed multiple threads lately. I'm just asking nicely for you guys to just ease off. Nothing wrong with some teasing and having fun, it actually encouraged but today there was a point in the coronavirus thead where you and @yankeesince59 were going at it so much that out of a string of 30 posts 24 of them were you two and your "banter." When 80% of current posts in a thread are two people going at it it's time to give it a rest for a while. @PtldPlatypus politely asked you both to stop and you ignored him. I'm asking you again nicely.

If you are having a problem with a member please send some or all of us a PM.

Old guys behaving like clowns. No need to take it to a private thread. Have a seat, partner, we will eat popcorn and laugh our asses off!

:bwpopcorn::biglaugh:

As a Blazer fan I think were contractually obligated at birth to hate those who associate themselves with the Lakers, whether we've met them or not.

Ahh, I thought that might have been it.

I guess it's time for me to come clean. I'm not a Blazers fan. I followed a Lew Alcindor while he was at UCLA and followed him when he was with Milwaukee and then as Jabbar in LA. But was never really a Magic Johnson or Kobe fan and no longer follow the Lakers. If anything, I follow the Warriors because I've followed Curry since he was in college.

Hate to add even more bad news but in addition to being a lifelong Yanx fan, I've also been a Raiders fan nearly as long...in fact, I became a fan the year Al Davis coached them to their first winning season...1963 0r 64?...(I thought the Uni's were cool, (modeled after the Army Black Knights)(another Al Davis innovation)

There is so much counseling I need after reading this lol. My dad told me he was a Laker fan before the Blazers existed and still have some issues to work out from that.

FWIW’s I dislike Draymond a whole lot and Kerr too, but Curry and Klay I think are fairly likeable guys.

Oh, I agree about Draymond Green. He's an embarrassment IMO...he kinda reminds me of Dennis Rodman, great defensively but a total ass hat.

Nah, it's all about politics with his ilk.

I was saying that you being asked to stop is not about your political leanings. That's what's "not about politics." The mods who asked you to stop aren't liberals.

Even ending the thread title with an explanation point can't inject excitement into the fail/fail result Dems are left with.

Neither of these swamprats on life support could beat Pence, let alone Trump.
Show me where your confidence level is. Make a bet with me.

Let me say it this way:

What I'm saying is, the seeming disdain for me in this forum has EVERYTHING to do about politics, Trump, right-to-life, etc. From there, the other insults, snarkyism, and the like, enters into the fray (specifically, yankee), which then requires mod intervention.

My defenses really have nothing to do with the mods, unless you take me on as it relates to my beliefs/passions, etc.

Yes, I'd agree you're in the minority with your beliefs, so there will be some number of people who have disdain for your opinions. Just the nature of the beast with a Portland fanbase. If you were an Atlanta Hawks fan, most likely their off-topic forum wouldn't be terribly welcoming to liberal viewpoints.

As long as you don't think the moderating is biased against you, things are fine. You'll have to decide for yourself if you're okay with arguing with a bunch of liberals. At least you have MARIS on your side!

Thanks. You nailed it. :)

The Socialist or President My Boss?

Maris is only partially on ABM's side.

Mods, pretty sure a lifetime ban is in order here. :dunno:

My brother in-laws dad (Bill Renna) played for the Yanks in late 50's and Red Sox. I heard many a great Story from Bill, over the years! He passed away in 2014.
He wasnt a starter but did start a number of games, in the minors he was known as a power/hr hitting outfielder.
My brother in law has his small uni framed by his mother when he was a bat boy for the Red Sox.
On his wall there are pics of Casey Stengel and the Yankees along with BoSox pics.
Played College at Santa Clara and was a veteran.
I have several cards signed by him and a baseball.
Loved it when he and his wife come up from San Jose and we would sit on the Columbia River at Brothers house and talk baseball.
